Position Summary

As a leader of a team of software development engineers, you will provide guidance and mentorship while establishing performance objectives that align with organizational goals. You will develop comprehensive strategies for software development projects, which include defining project requirements, assisting with design and solutions, while establishing timelines, and setting deliverables to ensure efficient execution.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Mgr Software Development Engineer, Release Manager, and Senior Product Owner to join our Commercial Plan Sponsor Domain engineering team. As a Sr Mgr Software Development Engineer, Product Owner,  Release Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the AT-CNP COMM TECH DEL APP DEV Organization, Plan Sponsor Domain you will manage a team of software developers responsible for applications that plan sponsor domain supporting; benefit, case installation, data for plan sponsors we administrate benefits for which is crucial in supporting mission critical processes. In addition, this position will be responsible for oversight of Plan Sponsor Managed Services production support team (supports approx.. 100 applications, staff of approx. 50 resources, combination of onshore and offshore. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of these initiatives as well as leadership of day to day maintenance operations.

Oversee risk assessment processes, resolve production issues, evaluate resource availability, and implement timely solutions to minimize operational disruptions.

Ensure adherence to industry best practices, quality standards, security standards, and current trends within the department and organization.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers and business stakeholders, to align priorities, address conflicts, and maintain strong working relationships to help deliver enhancements and new products to meet business objects and company goals.

Investigate and assess emerging software technologies, methodologies, and industry developments, leveraging innovative solutions and integrating optimal practices. Help lead a subdomain of scrum team members utilizing JIRA and other tools.

Provide expert technical direction, make informed decisions, and support the team in overcoming complex challenges.

Conduct thorough performance evaluations and foster a collaborative work environment that encourages continuous professional growth.

Team Management: Oversight to manage subdomain, 2-3 scrum teams to track and deliver quality software development and track the overall iteration, increment and delivery dates, in support of monthly deployments.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years including 2+ years’ experience of leading projects or managing directs
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills.
  • Adept at business intelligence.
  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience with healthcare claim or Plan administration
  • JIRA experience and admin responsibilities.
  • Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
  • Experience with Generative AI technologies and frameworks.
  • Expertise in enterprise application architecture, API development, and microservices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Self-Starter and Learner - must be a proactive self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies as they emerge.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in exploring innovative solutions.

Technology Stack that we use:

  • Programming Languages: Cobol, Mainframe, Java, Springboot, Javascript, Spring batch, Spring Boot Kafka, JSON.
  • Mainframe Technologies: CICS, JCL, VSAM, REXX
  • Databases: DB2, MQ, MySQL.
  • Cloud Platform: Azure OpenShift, Openshift IBM Websphere, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Tools: Data Studio, Open-Source Eclipse, IBM Rational Application Developer, IBM Data Studio, Endeavor, GITHUB Desktop, WINSCP, SOAP UI, Postman, Tableau, Rational Team Concert (RTC), JIRA product with Confluence
  • Operating System: Windows 10/11, RHEL.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering. MF, Java technologies.
  • Certified developer or architect certification preferred but not required.
  • Cloud Platform experience: Azure OpenShift, Openshift IBM Websphere, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Github Copilot experience for development activities.
  • Prior experience with managing Plan Sponsor data with a large health insurer.
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
  • Experience designing and building automation capability.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and software delivery.



Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree and experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
