The Senior Manager of Operations Finance will be responsible for partnering with Sr. Leadership of the Golf Ball Manufacturing subsidiary to develop strategic and tactical business plans and to provide timely and accurate financial and business performance analysis to assist the Operations Group in its goal of making fact-based decisions. The incumbent is also responsible for defining measures to evaluate the Golf Ball Manufacturing subsidiary’s performance against its strategic and tactical business plans. The incumbent will also be responsible for all accounting related to the subsidiary.
Business Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Accounting
- Plans and coordinates the budget and strategic planning processes for the Manufacturing Plant and presents results to executive or regional management.
- Manage timelines and coordinate communication of critical financial data points to enable functions to deliver complete and thorough business plans on time.
- Responsible for and manage all aspects of the monthly close process for the Golf Ball subsidiary in compliance with accepted accounting principles.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining standard costs and analyzing monthly variances.
- Manage timelines and coordinate communication of critical financial data points to enable functions to deliver complete and thorough budgets and forecasts on time.
- Work closely with the Global Supply Chain group to understand past, current, and future trends of material pricing, availability, and freight-in expenses.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Chicopee finance and accounting department.
- Manage month-end close for the subsidiary and lead in audit support.
- Lead the planning and management of the annual department operating budget.
- Analize and forecast all plant variances to standard including purchase price variance, material use variance, make buy variances, and absorption variances.
- Manage financial controls.
- Support all IT projects that relate to the Golf Ball plant.
Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and create financial analyses and business plans by partnering with department heads.
- Coordinates the monthly review of the Golf Ball plant performance and presents results to Operations Executive management.
- Manage and prepare cash flow statements for the subsidiary.
- Prepares and assists in ad hoc information and analysis for functional and corporate management.
- Conduct financial analysis of major programs and capital projects.
- Establish pre go to market standard costs.
- Special project support and analysis.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Provides leadership and direction to others, providing essential financial and analytical support that enhances the organization’s ability to make appropriate business decisions.
- Conduct performance appraisals for direct reports, development planning, appropriate recognition, succession planning, and disciplinary actions.
- Stay connected with current corporate and operations initiatives.
- Ensure current initiatives are being communicated to the appropriate groups.
- Regularly review business processes and procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness as needed.
- Direct Ball subsidiary’s finance group to ensure we accomplish the abovementioned duties.
Capital Process
- Review and analyze all the Ball Subsidiary’s capital spending projects regarding strategy and budgets for submission to Capital Investment Committee.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Capital Funding Requests.
- Plan and monitor capital spending by preparing detailed reports presented to senior executives in the monthly meeting.

- Knowledge of SAP and SAP Analytics preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
- Able to extract pertinent data from the ERP system to support the above duties
- Must be an initiative-taker with strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and comfortable presenting data to Sr. Management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum nine years of finance and accounting experience with heavy emphasis on cost accounting and production/operations analysis and reporting.
- Minimum three years of leadership experience
