Position Summary
The CVS Health Workforce Initiatives (WI) team drives workforce development by building strategic partnerships and creating pathways to employment that reflect the communities we serve. Our initiatives focus on bridging social gaps by cultivating skilled workers and fostering quality partnerships that contribute to community development.
The Senior Manager of Internal Operations is a strategic leader within the Workforce Development department, responsible for driving operational effectiveness across project management, training curriculum development, and awareness and engagement activities. This role ensures that internal systems, learning tools, and communications strategies are aligned with the department’s mission to foster innovating community partnerships that create effective pathways to employment.
This position requires a collaborative, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is enthusiastic about building infrastructure that supports team effectiveness, program impact, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
Lead planning, execution, and evaluation of internal cross-functional projects that align with workforce development initiatives.
Establish and optimize internal processes that support cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and program execution.
Lead the creation of executive-level presentations and reports that communicate departmental outcomes, impact metrics, and strategic priorities.
Translate data and programmatic insights into clear, compelling visuals and narratives for senior leadership.
Program Execution & Regulatory Oversight
Team Leadership & Strategy
Establish and maintain efficient internal processes and systems to support program delivery and team collaboration.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that supports innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Manage relationships with external vendors, including performance oversight, and budget tracking to ensure alignment with departmental goals and fiscal responsibility.
Training and Curriculum Development Oversight
Guide the development of inclusive, scalable, training programs that support workforce development participants and program delivery.
Drive consistency and quality of training programs, initiatives, and materials launched by the department.
Oversee the development and implementation of digital and in-person learning experiences to support effective training delivery.
Awareness and Engagement Oversight
Oversee awareness and engagement strategies that promote transparency and visibility of community initiatives.
Collaborate with CVS Health Corporate Communications teams to amplify impact through storytelling and strategic messaging.
Ensure consistent branding and voice across collateral materials, newsletters, presentations, and digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in operations, project management, training, or communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven ability to lead and develop manager-level staff and manage, cross-functional projects.
Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of instructional design, adult learning theory, and digital learning platforms.
Experience developing executive-level presentations and reports.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business management, education, communications, or related field (master’s preferred).
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
