The Senior Materials Specialist will support the development, standardization, advancement and implementation of a lean enterprise material flow strategy. This role will utilize advanced analytical skills to identify opportunities and develop solutions that result in optimal material flow at the lowest total landed costs. The Senior Materials specialist will identify opportunities and to align efforts cross functionally to maximize the ROI associate with lean material flow initiatives, returnable container implementation, logistics route engineering and shortage mitigation. It will be essential to partner with segment leadership to define strategic initiatives and lead project teams established to achieve AIP scorecard goals and/or specified KPI targets.

YOUR IMPACT 

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Support standardization, advancement and implementation of a lean enterprise material flow strategy. Scope includes but not limited to: KPIs, PFEP, replenishment systems, WMS, inventory control, production scheduling and IT support systems.

  • Update critical ERP system parameters to align with the optimal materials strategy in conjunction with the Plan for Every Part process.

  • Maintain required documentation outside the ERP system as necessary to support ongoing monitoring and change management.

  • Support measurable improvement in parts shortages due to poor production and materials planning, inventory errors and damage within the facilities.

  • Resolve problem utilizing acquired knowledge and analytical abilities.

  • Compile data from ERP systems, spreadsheets, and other sources to support decision-making in conjunction with the Plan for Every Part process.

  • Forecast workload based on demand projections.

  • Leverage shop-floor lean material flow implementation experience to lead and support projects focused on synchronization of material consumption with production, maximizing efficiency of material conveyance routes and optimal material presentation to the point of use.

  • Significantly reduce excess material handling inside facilities, between facilities and to and from local suppliers through extensive value stream analysis and application of Plan For Every Part principles.

  • Lead development and deployment of cross-functional strategic initiatives to reduce costs in the supply chain by removing wastes.

  • Lead project teams through to completion. Ensure project schedule attainment, KPI targets, and executive report outs on project status.

  • Engage with business segment counterparts to support deployment of the materials strategy. Ensure material flow strategy deliverables are executed using a standard set of tools and methods. Coordinate with business segment leadership to align strategic initiatives.

  • Develop, present and implement PFEP training materials and supporting tools. Partner with segments to institutionalize PFEP in their internal training processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) or more years of experience within in Supply Chain, Materials, or a related field.

  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant industry related certifications.

  • Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.

  • Experience mentoring and leading team members through direct reporting relationships or project work.

  • Ability to effectively communicate.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.

  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.

  • Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.

  • Occasional travel required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The following represents general working conditions for this office-based role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.

  • This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature-controlled settings.

  • Duties are largely sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and using a computer and telephone.

  • Visual acuity to operate a computer and read documents is required, along with auditory ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.

  • Occasional movement within the office environment is necessary, including walking short distances, standing, or reaching for files.

Pay Range:

$72,200.00 - $116,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
