Sr. Material SpecialistProgram Summary

Roles and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices
Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes
May provide guidance to less experienced team members
Liaise with engineering to define material requirements for purchasing and construction activities for medium to large scale EPC projects
Build requisitions for required material and maintain tracking and visibility of all items to the jobsite by producing numerous reports including Job Balance Reports, Buildability Reports (Fabrication & Erection), IPMS Procurement Status Report, Open Requisition Report along with numerous other reports
Execute system interfaces to load loose shipped materials into the material tracking database IPMS
Ability to coordinate supply chain tasks and optimize material flow
Must conduct deep dives on inventory discrepancies and assist with root cause analysis
Must have knowledge of warehouse operations and assist with logistics coordination
Must be knowledgeable in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma principles)
Must be knowledgeable in regulatory & quality compliance awareness (AS9100, ISO standards if applicable)
Must communicate and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholder
Must be able to conduct risk management & material shortage mitigation
Basic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in related filed and 5+ years of experience
In lieu of formal education a high school diploma and 13 years of experience
ERP/MRP or comparable experience
Excellent understanding of inventory management transactions
Excellent MS Excel and MS Access skills
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Production scheduling/management systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle)
Ability to read Isometric Drawings & P&ID's and performing Material Takeoffs (MTO's)
Integrated Project Management System (IPMS) experience
Salary Range: 75,500.00 - 113,200.00 USD Annual
The salary range posted is based on Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity
