Sr. Material Specialist

Program Summary

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices

  • Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes

  • May provide guidance to less experienced team members

  • Liaise with engineering to define material requirements for purchasing and construction activities for medium to large scale EPC projects

  • Build requisitions for required material and maintain tracking and visibility of all items to the jobsite by producing numerous reports including Job Balance Reports, Buildability Reports (Fabrication & Erection), IPMS Procurement Status Report, Open Requisition Report along with numerous other reports

  • Execute system interfaces to load loose shipped materials into the material tracking database IPMS

  • Ability to coordinate supply chain tasks and optimize material flow

  • Must conduct deep dives on inventory discrepancies and assist with root cause analysis

  • Must have knowledge of warehouse operations and assist with logistics coordination

  • Must be knowledgeable in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma principles)

  • Must be knowledgeable in regulatory & quality compliance awareness (AS9100, ISO standards if applicable)

  • Must communicate and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholder

  • Must be able to conduct risk management & material shortage mitigation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in related filed and 5+ years of experience

  • In lieu of formal education a high school diploma and 13 years of experience

  • ERP/MRP or comparable experience

  • Excellent understanding of inventory management transactions

  • Excellent MS Excel and MS Access skills

 

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Production scheduling/management systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle)

  • Ability to read Isometric Drawings & P&ID's and performing Material Takeoffs (MTO's)

  • Integrated Project Management System (IPMS) experience

Salary Range: 75,500.00 - 113,200.00 USD Annual

The salary range posted is based on Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity
