Title: Senior Manager, Budtender Engagement

Location: Maryland

Travel Requirements: 40%-60% of the time

About the Role:  The Senior Manager of Budtender Engagement at Curaleaf is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance budtender education, performance and brand advocacy across retail locations. This role focuses on building strong relationships with frontline staff, delivering impactful training programs, and fostering a culture of excellence in customer experience and cannabis education.

Working in close partnership with national marketing, sales, and compliance teams, this leader provides strategic guidance on brand activations, promotions, and regional campaigns while overseeing local execution to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

What You’ll Do: 

Development and Execution of Budtender Outreach
•    Design and implement engagement initiatives to motivate, inspire and deftly educate budtenders in both wholesale and retail.
•    Evangelize and inspire all that sell our brands – both internally and at wholesale; create Curaleaf ambassadors across the route-to-market (RTM).
•    Leverage education in a way that drives belief, adoration and advocacy with all that sell Curaleaf brands.
•    Oversee and keep fresh all digital brand training programs; participate in productions.
•    Treat role as a much as a sales role as an educator; drive brand excitement.

Provider of All In-Store/Field Education For Curaleaf Brands
•    Build and update all national brand/sales training materials
•    Work with local sales and activation teams to schedule on-going training sessions. Establish a call/training frequency in top accounts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Work with regional retail leadership to align on identifying local training needs and solves for them
•    Collaborate with brand teams on building best in class training materials for existing and new items in both wholesale and retail.

Design and Support Product Launches
•    Develop training content focused on memorable communication of key brand/product benefits.
•    Stay abreast of category and consumer trends to assist and inform on building out a winning innovation pipeline.
•    Refresh and socialize educational materials on existing products/brands/SKUs.

Creator and Driver of Customer Engagement & Education
•    Create and execute training across all commercial touchpoints for Curaleaf.
•    Coordinate and run any customer/budtender incentives to reinforce brand education and foster brand love across the RTM for Curaleaf brands.
•    Execute brand/product trainings at trade shows and other brand trade “tentpole” events.
•    Interact on the behalf of the brand with local/regional influencers.
   

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of proven experience in retail, internal and consumer education in cannabis
  • Strong communication and personal skills
  • Passion for cannabis education and delivering a great, informative experience for retail partners, shoppers and converting the cannabis curious to Curaleaf purchasers
  • Ability to travel and work cross-functionally across multiple markets
  • Proactive mindset – quick to anticipate partner questions, issues and pushback
  • Sales experience in cannabis or similar industries
  • Some media training and proof of being a power spokesperson

Even Better If:

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience working in or with highly regulated industries (e.g., cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, pharma)
  • Route/key sales responsibility or store merchandising background
