Job Description Summary

               

The Process Control Engineer position leads the day-to-day development, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the plant’s Process Control infrastructure. Responsibilities also include participation in Charter plans under direction of the engineering manager. Work includes preparation of studies, reports, schedules, ability to manage budgets, inspections, read bid requests, evaluation of bid submittals, provide direction and coordination of contractors, controls programming, and ability to build capability in team member personal growth, skills and troubleshooting capability. The job requires excellent technical and programming development skills, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Accountabilities
• Lead the day-to-day PLC controls program troubleshooting to support plant operations.
• Work with Engineering team and IT to support automation and IT projects.
• Management of programming and development and maintenance of plant Process Control systems.
• Manager of Process Control technicians.
• Work with electrical TLM and team members to build capability and knowledge to improve reliability and eliminate losses related to PLC / automation / electrical components.
• Management of plant LOB servers.
• Manage controls systems and OEM supplied systems and equipment. Work with corporate Process Control to maintain overall automation and control goals, specifications, and integration standards.
• Work to execute the overall platform and plant automation and controls vision.
• Drive department to achieve key metrics.
• Support the Plant reliability through project and technical support
• Demonstrate servant leadership principles in all aspects of the role and encourage a culture of collaboration between all departments and team members
• Work closely with Plant leadership to align and prioritize workstreams to ensure continuity in directives between all departments, fostering a One Operations Mindset

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive related job experience or 4-year degree in Engineering

  • Manufacturing plant experience in production/quality assurance/support.

  • 3-5 years engineering experience in projects/maintenance work.

  • Experience with Rockwell Hardware and development software platforms. Must have proven skills using tools such as project management software, visualization software and other planning media and the ability to concisely summarize goals and progress on projects into status reports.

  • Excellent technical and analytical skills.

  • Instrumentation, communications skills.

  • Proficiency with communications protocols including Ethernet/IP, Device Net, and serial communications.

  • Must be detail orientated.

  • Proven self-starter and work history profile.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. 

  • Excellent PLC development, troubleshooting, and programming skills.

  • Strong PC skills to include Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.

  • Leadership skills to work as a peer and advisor to other departments

  • Ability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays when required

A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.

               

Pay Rate or Range: $101,730.00 - $152,600.00
