                                                Manufacturing Engineer Senior

I.PURPOSE OF POSITION

• This position will be responsible of the improvement and sustaining of the existing manufacturing process. Manufacturing processes include: CNC machining, sheet metal stamping, plastic molding, heat treat, and assembly. Support NPI with the design and implementation of new manufacturing processes. Improve quality and productivity. The ideal candidate of this position should have strong leadership, talent to identify opportunities beyond those already identified, analytical skills, self-motivated, capable to control several projects at same time, experience to work under pressure, commitment to delivery projects on time, hands-on skills

II.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine and maintain process specifications for all manufacturing processes, inside a metal-mechanic environment.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing process.
• Elaborate plans to improve efficiency
• In coordination with quality, stablish action plans to decrease defects.
• Develop and review standard operating procedures for the process. · Identify opportunities to reduce cost and develop plans to implement.
• Support in all manufacturing issues that requires engineering expertise.
•  Design of tooling and fixtures to increase efficiency.

Internal Relations:

• Reports to Manufacturing Engineering Manager II
• Interacts with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, and other functional teams on a variety of process issues.
• Can interact as needed with application engineering, and other professionals inside of the organization to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives.

External relations:

• Interacts with suppliers as needed.
• And with Thomson Customer Service Application Engineers

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

• Engineer degree with minimum 5 years of experience
• High sense of urgency and be a self-starter, highly driven and solving problem · Good    communications skills, proactive and good team player
• Highly Organize
• Able to handle multiple projects
• Fluent English
• Knowledge of ERP Software (like Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)
• Process implementation, cells layout and controls
• Lean manufacturing tools knowledge, as an example VSM, PQPR, 5S’s, STD Work

MOST IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Strong in data analysis, problem-solving tools
• Six sigma tools experience (desirable)
• MS Excel medium or advance level
• Understanding in machining process CNC process.
• Proficiency in blue prints reading and geometric & tolerances (GD&T).
• Computer Skills and proficiency in CAD software / CAM is a plus.
• Knowledge of measurement equipment.
• Use and application of manufacturing standards norms (ISO, ASTM).
• Experience in implementation of lean manufacturing tools, (desirable)
• Knowledge in manufacturing costing process, (desirable).
• Knowledge in heat treat and grinding process, (desirable).
• Sheet metal experience and Molding process is a plus.
