Finance & Accounting – Context of the Role
The Finance & Accounting (F&A) function at Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) is on a multi-year journey to modernize its operating model across all business lines.
In support of addressing changing circumstances in MVW’s markets, services, and business needs, this role requires a Senior Manager, Transformation Projects who is an effective communicator skilled in building relationships and proficient in conceptualizing, planning, documenting and leading projects and driving change.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Strategy and Transformation, the Senior Manager, Transformation Project Management serves as a Project Manager who executes Finance & Accounting transformation projects across the MVW Enterprise.
As a member of MVW’s F&A Transformation Strategy & Performance Team, the role acts drives the completion of planned transformation projects in support of business initiatives that position and strengthen MVW for the future – measures outcomes and learnings. Assists in identifying new opportunities, communicating benefits and expectations of how MVW should operate, and being vigilant that MVW remains focused on delivering value to customers and associates.
Primary responsibilities include partnering with MVW functional leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and define business requirements, manage user acceptance testing (UAT), and support hypercare for applicable projects during the HCLTech initial delivery, transition, and on-going transformational activities. Interacts with senior F&A and MVW business leaders on transformation design and implementation matters that support making strategy a dynamic capability for MVW.
Objectives & Key Results
- Delivers projects within the portfolio on time, within scope and budget, e.g., achieve 95% on-time delivery rate, maintain a budget variance within +/- 5%, and complete 100% of scope items defined in each project charter
- Improves stakeholder satisfaction via surveys, e.g., increase stakeholder satisfaction score from 80% to 85% of active projects
- Strengthens risk and issue management, e.g., mitigate or resolve 90% of critical tasks before project milestone achievement, and maintain issue resolution time under three days for 95% of cases
- Drives continuous improvement in delivery practices, e.g., implement three new process improvements based on post retrospective feedback

Expected Contributions
- Ensures business requirements for assigned projects are clearly identified and documented.
- Manages assigned business projects and support efforts are varied in scope and duration and encompass one or more of the following project management elements: project definition, performance metrics and reporting, detailed planning, project issues and risks, tactical operations support, development of deliverables, timeline development and management, implementation of deployment plans, training development, and communications strategy and content development.
- Monitors achievement of project milestones and deliverables of project teams; identifies, manages, and tracks project issues and risks through to resolution.
- Ensures critical interdependencies are identified, defined, and managed in transition and transformation project plans while defining workable integration mechanisms.
- Evaluates methods that measure the effectiveness of transition and transformation projects including broad organizational acceptance and adoption of intended outcomes.
- Accurate and timely reporting of transition and transformation project performance against project plans and the business case; communicates progress to MVW stakeholders.
- Collaborates with MVW Organization Change Management (OCM) Representative, MVW’s dedicated Communications lead, third-party resources, and external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to scope communications plans, define content and story lines, and execute change management and communications plans in support of achieving transition and transformation project results.
- Manages assigned tactical support efforts as well as overall management in support of MVW transition and transformation projects.
- This position assists in achieving business results by identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes, guiding project participants, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for risk and issue management, and problem resolution.

Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management, technology, hospitality, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- PMP/PMI Certification preferred
Experience
- At least seven years of progressive work experience managing enterprise-wide strategic organization transformational initiatives, preferably in Finance and Accounting.
- Experience in a publicly traded, multi-business line, international environment preferred.
- Experience in a matrix corporate structured organization preferred.
- Experience in Hotel Management, Vacation Ownership, Hospitality preferred.
- Experience coordinating and directing multiple resources, both internal resources and external vendors, to accomplish tasks.
Skills and Attributes

- Experience managing strategic organization transformational initiatives within a multi-national, multi-business line, corporate matrix structure, and a publicly traded business.
