Sr Manager - T&O SMO Strategy & Transformation

Job Description

The Sr Manager - T&O SMO Strategy & Transformation will lead the development and execution of the transformation strategy and roadmap for the T&O Supplier Management Office (SMO). This role will act as the Center of Excellence (COE) for supplier management and risk management standards, collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with broader Third-Party Supplier Services (TPSS) priorities. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with experience in change management and transformation leadership. The candidate should be able to collaborate with cross-functional partners and drive alignment with broader organizational priorities.

What will you do?

  • Providing insight and aligning processes to support the development of short and long-term strategies that align SMO objectives with the Third-Party Supplier Services (TPSS) vision.
  • Driving Transformation: Conducting change impact assessments and creating execution frameworks for transformational initiatives to ensure seamless implementation.
  • Risk Automation and Compliance: Developing and implementing tools, processes, and education plans to drive risk automation and ensure compliance with RBC Policies and Standards within the breadth of the third-party area.
  • Standardization and Collaboration: Driving the standardization of SMO key artifacts, such as exit strategies and risk reports, and leading the development of a RASCI (Responsibility Assignment Matrix) between SMO and internal partners to foster collaboration.
  • Change Management and Innovation: Acting as a change agent by identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and leading remediation efforts, while demonstrating a strong understanding of SaaS and third-party information technology risk to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Collaborating with the data analytics team to develop initiatives and roadmaps that leverage data-driven insights for transformation and identifying opportunities to integrate data analytics into strategic planning, risk management, and process optimization.
  • Adaptability and Growth: Pivoting and prioritizing with the evolution of the role and team, proactively identifying opportunities for change, and developing future skills as needed to ensure continued success and growth.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in technology and operations: With a focus on third-party products and services,
  • Proven track record of success in strategic planning, change management, and innovation:
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in data analytics and data-driven insights: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Experience with risk management and compliance, particularly in the context of third-party risk management:
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams: The ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive business growth through effective communication and teamwork is essential for success in this role.

Nice-to-have

  • CISSP / CRISC / CISM 
  • Training in data analytics, data-driven insights, and strategic planning
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and SaaS platforms
  • Strong understanding of regulatory guidance and compliance requirements
