Sr. Manager, Strategy and Planning, International SPM based in Singapore

The Sr. Manager, Strategy and Partnerships, International SPM plays a critical function in shaping and executing the long term direction of the International Sports Medicine business. Operating as a key strategic partner, and reporting into the Sr. Director, International Commercial Planning, this role drives corporate strategy and partnership initiatives, leads cross functional high-impact projects through an International projects office, and develops material that informs key decision making for the International Leadership Team. Responsible for Commercial Strategy, Strategic Planning, Business Intelligence and Strategic Partnerships.
What will you be doing?
- Drive market-level growth strategies by identifying priority segments, accounts, and portfolio opportunities across international markets
- Develop and maintain a structured “where-to-play / how-to-win” assessment to guide resource allocation and strategic focus across markets
- Lead key strategic go-to-market (GTM) optimizations and category leadership initiatives.
- Provide market intelligence and sizing analysis to inform strategic priorities, resource allocation, and portfolio focus
- Lead the 5-year strategic planning process for the International Sports Medicine business, partnering with regional and market leaders define priorities, allocate resources and translate strategy into actionable plans
- Prepare and coordinate strategic inputs for monthly and quarterly reviews, ensuring leadership has a consistent and fact-based view of progress against plan, enabling leadership to track performance, identify risks, and take timely corrective actions
- Monitor execution of strategic initiatives throughout the year, flagging deviations early and recommending corrective actions to keep the plan on track
- Enhance commercial discipline through KPI tracking, performance insights, and salesforce effectiveness initiatives
- Enable data-driven decision-making through the development and maintenance of dashboards and actionable insights for local and regional teams
- Advance customer and account-level insights to drive targeted commercial actions
- Enhance data infrastructure and automation to improve speed and quality of decision-making
- Drive the strategy and process for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agentic systems and AI Agents across organizational processes for both efficiency gains and competitive differentiation
- Define and execute an International partnership strategy aligned with Sports Medicine growth priorities
- Source and evaluate institutional partners across priority domains and lead commercial and strategic negotiations
- Launch parter programs with joint value propositions for leading institutions, integrated with Smith+Nephew’s growth model
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Medical Education, Finance, market access, other functional teams to enable partnership program delivery
- To always act in a responsible manner to avoid risk to self or to the company and comply with the workplace safety and health and security policy.
- Any other duties involved within the role and/or the tasks as assigned from time to time.
What will you need to be successful?
Success in the role will requires a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization.
Successful candidates would need the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in commercial strategy, consulting, business planning, or related functions within the medical devices or healthcare industry
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and commercial performance management at regional or international level
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Experience developing and managing dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking frameworks
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across markets and functions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously
