The Role
AspenTech is seeking a people-focused and technically astute Senior Manager to join our Enterprise Operations Platform (EOP) organization. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction for a large team of software professionals, ensuring the growth, engagement, and performance of your team. The Senior Manager is responsible for all aspects of people management, including talent acquisition, development, and retention, while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Agile Team Leads, Architects and Product Owners, who are responsible for technical mentorship, technical direction and product direction for your team. Your focus will be on building a high-performing team, supporting career development, and ensuring alignment with organizational values and business objectives.
As a member of the EOP development team, you and your team will work on cutting‑edge industrial edge‑connectivity and distributed‑computing projects that surface data from the plant floor all the way to the cloud. The team focuses on building highly performant data services that securely move and manage massive volumes of information. You’ll help create solutions that configure, contextualize, analyze, and visualize data, making it easily accessible to a wide range of applications. The EOP platform supports multiple operating systems and serverless cloud‑native technology stacks, giving the team opportunities to work across a diverse set of modern technologies.
Your Impact
- Lead and manage a large team of software professionals, providing guidance, support, and regular feedback.
- Oversee all aspects of talent management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Partner with Agile Team Leads and Product Owners to ensure team members are supported in their roles and have clear growth opportunities.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and support the professional development of all direct reports.
- Address and resolve personnel issues, mediate conflicts, and ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with HR and senior leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Stay current with industry trends in talent management, leadership best practices, and software engineering workforce development.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development or engineering, with at least 3+ years in a people management or senior leadership role.
- Language requirement:
- French: A1 (advanced)
- English level C1 (advanced), the position requires interactions with international clients
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop large, diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams.
- Proven experience in talent management, performance coaching, and employee development.
- Ability to lead change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
