As a Senior Software Manager, you’ll lead engineering efforts behind our next‑generation wearable cardiac arrhythmia monitors and the cloud platforms that power them.

What you'll be doing:

Lead & Inspire Engineering Teams

  • Lead and mentor a high‑performing team of 8–10 engineers.

  • Hire, grow, and develop engineering and technical leads.

  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Drive Cloud Product Delivery

  • Oversee design and deployment of scalable cloud applications.

  • Ensure alignment with modern architectures (microservices, containers, CI/CD).

  • Own sprint health, release readiness, and predictable delivery.

  • Partner closely with Product, UX, and Architecture to bring ideas to life.

Provide Technical Direction

  • Guide full-stack development across FE (React/Angular), BE (.NET, Java, Python, Node.js), and SQL/NoSQL databases.

  • Review architectural decisions for security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

  • Champion DevOps practices, automated testing, and observability.

Champion Agile Excellence

  • Lead teams in Scrum environments.

  • Improve forecasting, estimation, and overall team velocity.

  • Track engineering health metrics (defects, cycle time) and drive process improvements.

Align Strategy & Influence Stakeholders

  • Communicate priorities, roadmaps, and risks to senior leadership.

  • Support quarterly planning and long-term product strategy.

  • Manage dependencies across teams to keep execution smooth and aligned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years in software engineering; 3–5+ years managing engineering teams.

  • Proven success delivering cloud-native products in production.

  • Experience leading full-stack teams across front-end, back-end, and data layers.

  • Strong Agile expertise.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $160,000 to $220,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
