DESCRIPTION:

This position provides leadership and direction through supervisors or professional staff. The Senior Manager Operations is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for existing products and/or technologies. They contribute to budget development for labor and capital expenditures and manage resources to meet financial performance requirements.

  • Ensure the safety of work practices in accordance with the company's Safety Programs
  • Maintain compliance with cGMPs in all activities
  • Provide operational leadership for manufacturing processes
  • Implement strategies that ensure achievement of objectives consistent with the site's strategic direction
  • Manage employees involved in the execution and maintenance of manufacturing processes and operations
  • Participate in short-term planning and supervision of projects requiring interaction with Operations
  • Manage Manufacturing investigations, process variances, and deviations
  • Contribute to the development and revision of production plans
  • Support the Operations annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Focus internally and externally, interacting with team members, peers, and management
  • Maintain a network of expertise within the company and industry

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership, including implementing objectives and operational strategies
  • Establish team and individual goals aligned with departmental priorities
  • Strengthen team capabilities and organizational effectiveness
  • Implement appropriate team structures and processes
  • Identify and communicate risks, supporting strategies to manage operational risk
  • Contribute to departmental long-range planning
  • Ensure effective utilization of resources through employee development and performance management
  • Manage team headcount and expenses to meet approved spending plans
  • Motivate, retain, and develop key team members
  • Interact with relevant departments and functions to execute production plans and meet yearly goals


REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science or technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industry
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing management position
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to train, coach, and lead high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated leadership of manufacturing teams to meet commercial production schedules
  • Strong collaboration with cross-functional partners, including Quality, Manufacturing Technical Support, Facilities, Engineering, and Validation
  • Skilled in authoring and reviewing standard operating procedures and controlled documentation
  • Hands-on knowledge of Deviation, CAPA, and Change Control systems (e.g., TrackWise)
  • Expertise in troubleshooting, investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessment within a cGMP environment
  • Track record of driving improvements in technical and business processes
  • Solid project management capabilities
  • Understanding of GMP engineering facilities and equipment design concepts
  • Familiarity with post-approval changes and CMC sections of regulatory submissions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels
  • Background in Process Development and/or Manufacturing Technical Support
  • Experience supporting budgeting and operational planning activities
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $141,800.00–$212,675.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
