Senior Manager, Mercury Village Gatherings
This team is responsible for large, high level internal meetings that includes planning, strategy, financial planning, and managing a team of Managers, Supervisors, Planners. An ideal candidate will have a strong Corporate Meeting Planning or hospitality background, an ownership mindset to consistently and proactively seek ways to improve the business and a leadership ability to drive execution.
The Manager will be a key thought partner of the Mercury Village Gatherings team. The Manager will report to the Director/Senior Director of Mercury and will be based in DaVita’s world headquarters in Denver, CO.
The following is a brief overview of the expected roles and responsibilities of this position.
Essential Duties
· Thought and process leadership for projects
o Understand the problems or questions posed
o Synthesize data from multiple sources
o Develop and drive analyses to address the key issues
o Communicate recommendations to key stakeholders through verbal and written presentations
o Responsible for maintaining timelines, scheduling and coordination of these meetings
o Owns at least one aspect of functional area; contributes to direction of broader functional area
o Leads the works of their team, impacting functional area and department goals
Leadership
Manages a team who manage meetings and events of different sizes (10-10,000)
Supervises, leads, coaches, develops junior team members
Address conflict, resolves problems and facilitates common solutions
Develops plan for on-site responsibilities and manages on-site teams
Assist in variety of responsibilities in the absence of the director
o Ability to manage and delegate tasks as needed
o Shapes the culture of their team and project teams; reinforces Village culture with others
o Prioritizes and champions a culture of belonging
o Provides equal access to resources, support, and opportunities for individual and team growth
o Evaluates TM performance regularly and identifies training and development needs
o Makes challenging people decisions

o Own projects from inception to implementation
o Manages work with multiple team members and stakeholders, and communicates project(s) progress and achievements to leadership
o Balances competing priorities to deliver on deadlines, with limited support
o Excels in ambiguity; skilled in sense-making in an ill-defined environment and leading team to a comprehensive solution
Negotiation
Negotiates pricing and concessions and reviews contract
Manages additional third party vendors (e.g. transportation, décor, production, etc.)
Communication
Strong communication with interdependent teams and vendors
Excellence in interpersonal skills needed to supervise, manage and lead others.
Manages heavy correspondence. Ability to craft and communicate responses to inquiries in a time sensitive manner, escalate issues as necessary and inform team of communication status.
Drives discussions with team, key leaders and stakeholders to share meaningful insights
Delivers persuasive recommendations to senior audiences within and outside of functional area
Effectively networks throughout organization; viewed as an enterprise influencer
Demonstrates a poised and credible demeanor, projecting confidence
Financial
Budget accountability of forecast, budget and actual
Proposes and reviews event venues and provide projected budgets associated with all proposals
Provides event analysis, reporting, surveys and budget closing
Has the authority to make independent choice free from immediate direction or supervision
Ability to manage event registration, rooming list, food & beverage planning and budgeting for all tasks.
Read trade publications, attend seminars, and consult with other learning management and meeting management professionals in order to keep abreast of standards and trends.
Must be able to perform in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, quantitative disciplines preferred
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Accreditation, preferred
Minimum of ten (10) year’s event planning experience required
Management experience
o Simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple projects for competing internal clients
o Assume ownership and accountability for projects, including the timely delivery and the quality of the final work product
o Stretch "up" and "down" in responsibilities as needed
Minimum of five (6) years of experience developing and reconciling budgets required
Proven project management experience
o Demonstration of ability to delegate and manage capacity
· High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
· 5-6 years hands-on working experience/building online registration sites
Proven project management experience
· Superior judgment and decision making skills
· Self-starter with strong work ethic
Travel and time requirement
Travel: 30-50%
Nights/Weekends: 30-50%

The Salary Range for the role is $84,000.00 - $133,000.00 per year.
If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour, Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hourWashington Exempt: $77,968.80/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $17.66/hour, Burien: $21.16/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour, Renton: $20.90/hour, Seattle: $20.76/hour, Tukwila: $21.10/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour
