Job Description:
The Director of IT is responsible for the design, resilience, and security of the company’s entire technology footprint. This leader oversees the physical and digital backbone of the organization—from branch-level networking to enterprise-grade cybersecurity—ensuring that our field and office teams have the reliable tools they need to achieve our growth and service goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Information Security (The Shield)
- Governance & Compliance: Lead all aspects of information security, including the development of a formal security roadmap and incident response plans.
- Risk Management: Manage vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and third-party security audits (SOC2/ISO alignment).
- Data Privacy: Partner with the Data team to ensure PII handling complies with multi-state privacy laws.
- Identity Management: Oversee the security architecture for user access and authentication.
2. Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps (The Engine)
- Platform Engineering: Lead the architecture and management of our cloud footprint (Azure/AWS), ensuring high availability and performance for our custom applications.
- Automation (IaC): Implement "Infrastructure as Code" to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- CI/CD Leadership: Partner with the Software Development team to build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, enabling frequent, secure, and reliable code deployments.
- Cost Governance: Actively manage cloud consumption and compute costs, ensuring our infrastructure spend is optimized for EBITDA.
3. Infrastructure & Connectivity (The Backbone)
- Network Operations: Responsible for all enterprise and branch-level networking (SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, Internet circuits, and DNS).
- Branch-in-a-Box: Lead the standardization of branch technology, including the migration to hardware platforms (such as Ubiquiti/UBNT) for better TCO and reliability.
- Physical Security: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of office security cameras and access control systems across all districts.
4. Business Systems & Applications (The Tools)
- Cloud Ecosystem: Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, with a heavy focus on Entra ID for identity and device management.
- Operational Tech: Own the technical health of the CRM/FSM
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years in IT leadership, with a proven track record of managing multi-site infrastructure in a fast-paced field service or logistics environment.
- Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of networking protocols, cloud security frameworks (NIST/CIS), and identity management.
- Vendor Management: Experience negotiating and managing high-value contracts with ISPs, hardware vendors, and security partners.
- Leadership: Ability to lead a team of system administrators.
- Communication: Capable of translating complex security risks into business terms for the executive leadership team.
