Job Description
 

Knowledge:
Requires in-depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures and GAAP.
In-depth knowledge of local statutory and tax reporting requirements.
In-depth knowledge of JD Edwards or equivalent is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required.
Proficient in all aspects of accounting and finance.
Ability to successfully manage the work of financial personnel and interact effectively with non-financial personnel.
Strong presentation skills are required.
Significant experience in a multi-currency environment is required.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven and multi-tasking environment.
Specific education and experience requirements:
8+ years of relevant experience and BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent.
Previous supervisory experience.
CPA qualification is preferred.
CMA qualification is preferred.
An MBA is preferred.
Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus.
Experience in multi-national organization a plus.
Specific job responsibilities:
Provides direction and coordination to professional and clerical staff within the department and cross-functionally.
Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month end close and accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation & resolution; and financial analysis.
Ensures financial records are in compliance with GAAP.
Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies & procedures including Worldwide Controller’s manual.
Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely & accurate data and communication.
Evaluates processes and recommends & implements process improvements.
