Join a high‑visibility, high‑impact team driving the future of F135 Sustainment Affordability. The F135 Sustainment Affordability organization is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and financially savvy project leader who is energized by solving complex problems and influencing major program outcomes.

In this role, you will serve as the Sustainment Lead for the F135 Sustainment Affordability IPT, steering cross‑functional teams and shaping the cost strategy for one of the Department of Defense’s most critical propulsion systems. You will be the primary sustainment focal for both the JPO and Pratt & Whitney on War on Cost priorities—directly advancing the affordability, readiness, and long‑term viability of the F135 program.

This is a unique opportunity to integrate development, production, and sustainment insights into long‑range cost strategies; lead major cost‑reduction initiatives; develop business cases that influence enterprise‑level decisions; and communicate program value and progress to senior leaders and customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Integrate cost assessment activities across F135 production, development, and sustainment to ensure alignment and affordability.
  • Establish, monitor, and drive progress toward sustainment affordability targets, while generating new cost‑reduction opportunities.
  • Lead strategic affordability initiatives that advance F135 program objectives and support long‑term sustainment planning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to communicate affordability vision, plans, metrics, and status.
  • Develop and review business cases for major sustainment affordability projects, including shop-visit strategies and long‑term maintenance concepts.
  • Serve as the sustainment organization’s subject matter expert on affordability and cost drivers across operational execution.
  • Chair weekly CIPT meetings to assess cost performance against established shop‑visit goals.
  • Align unfunded project backlogs with available funding and lead affordability funding negotiations on behalf of Pratt & Whitney.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in customer/product support, project or program management, business management, sustainment operations, or strategic planning.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Project management, business management, or strategic planning experience.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and experience developing business cases.
  • Knowledge of government contracting, EVMS, SAP, and propulsion life cycle cost/MRO operations.
  • Familiarity with military engine maintenance practices and F135 sustainment operations.
  • Strong communication, data analysis, and leadership skills, with proven results through collaboration and use of digital tools such as PowerBI.
