DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW 

Sony Global Information Systems and Communications (GISC) is Sony’s global shared services IT organization, enabling technology at scale across Sony businesses worldwide. Within GISC, the End User Support & Productivity (EUSP) team delivers core platforms including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Identity, modern endpoint management, and end user services. 

 

The Senior Manager, End User Productivity – Microsoft Identity Platforms serves as the Americas regional lead for Microsoft identity services, with shared global accountability for service delivery, security, and continuous improvement. This role focuses on operational excellence, modernization delivery, and technical leadership, ensuring identity solutions are designed and operated in alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements, and business needs. 

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for the regional identity service experience, works closely with global engineering and security partners, and helps execute global roadmaps by delivering reliable, secure, and scalable identity services that support Sony’s workforce. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Serve as a senior member of the global Microsoft Identity Squad, providing handson technical and operational leadership across identity platforms including Active Directory (multiforest), AD FS, AD CS/PKI, Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure MFA, MTO/B2B, and cloudbased directory services. 

  • Act as the Americas regional service owner for Microsoft Identity Platforms, accountable for service health, availability, performance, and continuous improvement. 

  • Manage regional incidents, escalations, and problem resolution, coordinating crossfunctional teams and vendors to restore service, reduce risk, and prevent repeat issues. 

 

Modernization & Delivery: 

  • Lead and contribute to identity modernization initiatives, supporting the transition from legacy and onpremises solutions to cloudfirst and hybrid models (e.g., modern authentication, automated provisioning, tenant governance, Microsoft 365 integration, hybrid join). 

  • Monitor Microsoft roadmap updates and emerging identity technologies, applying relevant enhancements to improve security, reliability, and operational efficiency. 

 

Vendor & Service Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate closely with outsourced partners and strategic vendors, providing technical guidance and acting as an escalation point for complex or recurring issues. 

  • Ensure identity services are delivered in alignment with GISC service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management processes. 

 

Security and Cross-functional Partnership: 

  • Work closely with security, risk, and compliance teams to implement and maintain identity controls that reduce risk and ensure platforms are secure by design and compliance. 

  • Participate in regional and global working groups, forums, and task forces to share best practices, align on standards, and support coordinated delivery across EUSP. 

 

Agile & Delivery Leadership: 

  • Support the ongoing adoption of agile and productbased delivery practices within the Microsoft Identity Squad. 

  • Provide delivery oversight to ensure initiatives are planned, executed, and governed in alignment with SDLC, change management, and operational standards. 

  • Guide teams in translating business and technical needs into clear delivery plans, while identifying opportunities to improve identityrelated processes. 

  • Manage project vendors and delivery partners, ensuring commitments are met for scope, timelines, and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS  

Your qualifications and experience should include: 

  • Architecturerelated certification (e.g., TOGAF) preferred, with working knowledge of IT governance and delivery frameworks such as ITIL or PRINCE2. 

  • Handson experience with Microsoft Identity and Access Management, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, AD FS, AD CS/PKI, Entra Connect, MIM, Azure MFA, and Microsoft 365 MTO/B2B. 

  • Solid understanding of modern authentication, MFA, identity synchronization, and Microsoft identity security best practices. 

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and collaboration platforms, particularly Microsoft Teams, with working knowledge of Conditional Access, Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, LDAP, SCIM, and managed directories in Azure and AWS. 

 

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 

  • 7+ years of experience in progressively responsible technical, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles. 

  • Experience working in global, multicultural environments, collaborating across regions and time zones. 

  • Demonstrated success modernizing onpremises identity or infrastructure services to cloudbased platforms, including Microsoft 365. 

  • Handson experience supporting tiered, multiforest Active Directory environments. 

  • Strong communication and problemsolving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, mentor team members, and clearly explain complex topics.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $160,000 to $190,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 17%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
