What you’ll be Doing

You’ll be joining the Capital Markets Technology team. As a Senior Manager Application Development, you will be managing a team of Developers supporting Market Risk Applications, by spearheading projects involving transformation using C#.Net, SQL MI, Azure Cloud, Databricks, Microservices. This position will help our business partners across the bank to leverage cost efficient, automated, and scalable foundation to develop modern solutions and to transform.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions. 
  • Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with clients and internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage services to the agreed standards. Monitor service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Relationship Management: Work with various departments in development, testing and implementation of application programs having impact on improving the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements. Collaborate with the internal teams, external stakeholders and CIBC vendors/suppliers/partners to translate technology innovation trends, improvement, process effectiveness and cost efficiencies into actionable department initiatives
  • Strategic Planning: Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives including currency and capacity. Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
  • Leadership Skills: Act as the Senior Manager, providing strategic insight, leading the technical team through modernization into newer technologies, help run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving. Be a bold and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people.  Support and mentor team members through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in: building highly scalable, highly reliable services, within an Agile environment. Must have 6+ years of professional experience in software development using C#, .Net, SQL Server; and at least 4 years of Azure Cloud experience. Strong Knowledge of ETL Tools, GIT, Microservices, Web API. Experience in various technologies ranging from front-end UI to back-end systems. Strong asset if you have experience with PowerBI, GenAI, DataBricks and DevOps.
