Senior Manager, AECO Resource & Project Management 

The Senior Manager, AECO Resource & Project Management (PMO) is responsible for leading the Project Management Office and Resource Management function for AECO Professional Services. This role oversees Project Management Managers and the Resource Management team, ensuring consistent project delivery, effective resource allocation, and scalable operational practices across the AECO services portfolio.

Reporting to the Senior Director, AECO Americas Professional Services & Customer Onboarding, this leader plays a key role in ensuring that project delivery, staffing strategy, and operational execution are aligned with organizational priorities. The role partners closely with Services Leadership, Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure projects are appropriately staffed, delivery standards are maintained, and customer outcomes are achieved.

This position requires a mix of operational leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and delivery governance oversight. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Directs the activities of assigned staff

Manages the activities of Project Management Managers, Project Coordinators, and the Resource Management team

Responsible for the selection and hiring of new employees

Coaches, manages the performance of, rewards, and motivates team members

Provides leadership development for Project Management Managers and the Resource Manager

Discipline authority up to and including the recommendation of termination as necessary

Works with Services leadership to define delivery processes, workload management practices, and operational priorities.

Oversees resource planning and staffing strategies across all AECO professional services engagements.

Ensures appropriate interpretation and application of policies (e.g., time and expense approval, PTO management, utilization expectations).

Leads PMO and operational initiatives and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure alignment between delivery teams, sales commitments, and customer expectations.

Responsible for ensuring teams meet established delivery KPIs, utilization targets, and operational OKRs.

PMO Governance & Delivery Excellence

Establishes and maintains PMO standards, methodologies, and governance practices across AECO services engagements.

Ensures consistent execution of project management processes including planning, scope governance, risk management, and project reporting.

Oversees project portfolio health and works with delivery leaders to address risks that may impact timelines, quality, or customer satisfaction.

Drives continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery efficiency, predictability, and operational scalability.

Resource Management & Capacity Planning

Leads the AECO resource management strategy, ensuring appropriate staffing across all projects involving both Project Managers and Consultants.

Oversees the Resource Manager responsible for staffing AECO projects, ensuring alignment between project demand and available capacity.

Works with Services leadership to forecast resource demand based on sales pipeline, strategic initiatives, and active engagements.

Ensures appropriate balance between utilization, workload sustainability, and project delivery needs.

Identifies opportunities to improve staffing efficiency through cross-training, skill alignment, and workforce planning.

Customer Management

Acts as a senior escalation point for complex delivery challenges or customer concerns.

Works with internal teams and customers to assess delivery issues and implement resolution plans.

Ensures project execution aligns with customer expectations, contractual commitments, and delivery best practices.

Supports strategic customer engagements that require senior delivery oversight.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or a related field, plus 10+ years of experience in professional services delivery, project management, PMO leadership, or consulting operations, or comparable relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and leading large delivery or project management organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing enterprise software implementations, transformation programs, or large-scale professional services engagements.

  • Proven experience managing project delivery portfolios with multiple concurrent engagements and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience leading or establishing PMO governance frameworks and delivery methodologies.

  • Experience leading resource management, staffing strategy, and capacity planning across consulting or services teams.

  • Strong leadership and employee development experience, including recruiting, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment working across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Services organizations.

  • Strong operational and analytical skills with the ability to monitor delivery performance, identify risks, and drive operational improvements.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced, evolving services organization.

  • Ability to consistently perform assigned work within established deadlines.

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% as needed across the Americas to support customer and project needs. 

Preferred

  • Experience within AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Owner) industries.

  • Experience managing delivery organizations supporting construction technology or enterprise SaaS platforms

  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification.

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field.

Compensation:  Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.

$122,500.00–$168,400.00
