Senior Logistics Technician

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for handing incoming and outgoing shipments, along with coordinating all domestic and international shipments. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Location: Middleburg Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area)

Hours: Full-Time 1st Shift

Hourly Range:  $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Your Challenge:

  • Lead, train, and mentor logistics staff, often acting as a point of contact for drivers and department.

  • Oversee the packing of products, ensure all items are properly protected and secured in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards.

  • Coordinate shipments through various methods including LTL, freight, parcel, and international carriers.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation such as bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, and international customs forms.

  • Ensure all outgoing shipments comply with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records in ERP or inventory management systems.

  • Collaborate with production and scheduling teams to align shipping timelines with order fulfillment needs.

  • Manage carrier relationships, including rate negotiation, scheduling pickups, and resolving shipping delays or issues.

  • Monitor inventory levels of packing materials and coordinate restocking as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and international export regulations.

  • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enforce safety protocols within the shipping area.

  • Maintains customer delivery time windows. Manages communications associated with logistics distribution of material.

  • Responsible for tracking raw materials. Coordinates the distribution point of material for outgoing material.

  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.

  • Perform other related duties or functions assigned.

  • Construct custom wooden shipping crates to ensure the safe transport of finished goods.

Your Expertise:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred. Additional education or certification in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management is a plus.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse role, preferably within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

  • Demonstrated experience building custom wooden crates and packaging industrial components.

  • Solid understanding of domestic and international shipping logistics and related documentation.

  • Proficient in ERP systems and common shipping platforms (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight carrier portals).

  • Familiarity with shipping certifications and documentation requirements (e.g., NAFTA, MSDS, HTS, EAR).

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Forklift operation certification is a plus.
