Sr. Lead Material Handler

Job Summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated and experienced Sr. Lead Material Handler to join our Government Solutions team. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of clinical specimen inventory, providing direct supervision and mentorship to our warehouse associates, and ensuring strict material accountability while maintaining a T1 Investigation clearance and applying 5+ years of supervisory experience.

What You’ll Do In this role, you will:

  • Lead Operational Strategy: Provide strategic guidance to associates, managing employee scheduling and comprehensive training programs (DOD, MediaLab, etc.) to ensure the team meets all productivity and quality benchmarks.

  • Manage Complex Clinical Inventory: Oversee the processing and accountability of microscopic glass slides, paraffin blocks, and formalin-fixed tissues, ensuring accurate computer inventory management, secure storage, and specialized packaging.

  • Ensure Compliance & Accuracy: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specimen relocations and conduct rigorous periodic audits of repository files to identify discrepancies and ensure 100% compliance with established policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or repository environment.

  • Strong knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical terminology and numbering systems, with an advanced understanding of strategic storage optimization.

  • Proven ability in cultivating highly motivated teams, managing multiple simultaneous projects in high-pressure environments, and executing complex material processing.

  • High School Diploma or GED and a T1 Investigation clearance.

Reasonably expected salary range: $75,300.00 - $94,100.00

Please note that an employee's starting salary may vary based on a variety of factors. Where State, Municipal, Provincial, Territorial or other legal minimum wages exceed the federal minimum wage, employees are entitled to the higher rate.
