Role Overview

As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining core components of our SWIFT Market Solutions products. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product Management, Technology, Compliance, and Service—to build scalable, secure, and high-performing financial applications for global clients.

This role combines deep hands-on coding with leadership in architectural decisions, technology evolution, and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications supporting multi-client and multi-product financial solutions.

  • Participate in architectural discussions and guide the selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., application servers, database technologies).

  • Ensure integration and consistency with corporate development tools (e.g. Nexus, SonarQube, CheckMarx).

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business and client needs, transforming them into scalable technical solutions.

  • Drive code quality through best practices such as code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.

  • Contribute to product documentation and provide technical expertise to sales, marketing, and training teams.

  • Stay current with emerging Java technologies; attend courses or conferences to bring fresh insight into the team.

  • Act as a subject-matter expert (SME) during technical audits or client assessments related to our product.

Qualifications and Skills
Must-Have:
  • C1-level English proficiency.

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java development.

  • Solid understanding of Jakarta EE (Java EE) technologies (Enterprise Beans, CDI, JAXB, JSON, JPA, REST, etc.).

  • Experience with database management systems: MSSQL, Sybase, or PostgreSQL.

  • Proficiency with XML technologies (XSLT, XPath, XSD).

  • Experience using source control tools (Git, SVN) and continuous integration tools (Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Strong familiarity with code analysis tools (SonarQube, CheckMarx).

  • Understanding of the technical architecture of sophisticated web and mobile applications

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to operate with autonomy, initiative, and ownership

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills; capable of managing deadlines in dynamic environments.

  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively across global, matrixed teams.

  • Flexibility to adapt to new directions and technologies.

  • Availability to travel, especially during the onboarding period.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in the financial services or fintech industry.
