Our Material's Engineering, Condition Based Monitoring and Inspections Team is currently seeking an experienced and driven Quality Control Inspector to support our Business Unit Projects at our Syncrude Mildred Lake Site location. If you are experienced in Quality Control Inspections, this may be an opportunity for you!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eight years of oil and gas work experience
  • CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification
  • API 570, API 510 Inspector
  • Functional understanding of ASME and CSA inspection codes as well as ABSA, API, NACE codes and recommended practices
  • Working knowledge of non- destructive testing methodology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of Integrity Management System
  • Support piping & equipment repairs and alterations
  • Compliance with applicable codes, standards, and recommended practices as well as planning & engineering scopes of work
  • Provide clear, detailed comprehensive turnover documentation.
  • Ability to co-ordinate a team of quality control inspectors based on workload and plant priorities
  • Provides informal performance coaching of team members
  • Responds to confidential and sensitive customer queries and collaborates accordingly to provide safe, effective and efficient results

Location and other key details:

  • You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is 5 days on /4 days off, 4 days on/ 5 days off rotation; 12-hour shift, with the potential for extended work hours or on-call duties, based on business needs
  • Safety sensitive position
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided.
