What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of CIBC’s Patching Engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in all matters to design, prototype, build, test, automate and troubleshoot a complex infrastructure for the automated patching structure in the enterprise. This involves infrastructure knowledge across multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, Jboss, Oracle Database and MQ), integration to these platforms via Ansible Automation Platform playbooks and application consideration that allows end-to-end automated patching with no manual intervention. You will provide technical leadership and best practices to Technology teams during the full life-cycle phases of initiatives/projects involving automated patching from design to integration to implementation to post-care, as well as best practices for continuous improvement of this ecosystem. You will collaborate with engineers from different platforms, app developers and security engineers to integrate patching with vulnerability management.

How You’ll Succeed
Leadership & Communication – Collaborate with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance solutions related to build, maintain and improve the infrastructure used to support patching on multiple platforms. Weight business needs against technology offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations to automate the operationalization and day-to-day tasks. Enable capabilities to allow end-to-end patching consistently across multiple technologies and Line of Business.
Governance – Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Assist with the initiatives to collaborate with our operational partners. Provide technical and security guidance to clients within and outside your own department.
Engineering – Lead evaluation, selection and implementation of new and emerging products and techniques; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options. Drive initiatives to improve, automate and remediate the existing infrastructure.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in: design, prototype, build, test, automate and troubleshoot the technologies and technology-based solutions for patching dealing with Ansible Automation Platform, Linux, Windows, Jboss, Oracle DB, MQ and Security practices. You have the knowledge and understanding of marketplace experience, and industry best-practices.
You have strong knowledge of: Red Hat Suite of Products (Linux, Satellite, OpenShift), Microsoft Suite of Products (Windows Servers, SCCM), Oracle Solaris / OEM OpsCenter, Scripting, IT Standards, Designing Policies and Processes and have the ability to use and administer the organization's technology practices, standards and procedures appropriately to diverse situations.
