Steer offers a suite of software tools for today's automotive repair shop. We combine a mix of software tools that a repair shop needs to run a highly profitable shop, in one user-friendly, cost-effective platform. Through the Steer suite, we allow the shop owner to get back to focusing on what matters, and to stop worrying about marketing and customer retention.
Steer began as an online directory for drivers to find a local mechanic. Fast forward to today, Steer has launched a complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing suite, complete with text messaging, email automation, direct mail integration, reputation management, appointment reminders, declined/recommended services, and many other features. We are always innovating and we are proud to be a leader in the automotive repair industry. In August 2024 Steer acquired AutoOps - the leader in modern, intelligent, and fully integrated scheduling software for auto repair shops. AutoOps allows customers to smoothly schedule through a shop's website and Google Business Profile.
About the Role
Steer is the front-of-house platform built for auto repair shops. Our Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for designing the assets that get in front of shop owners every day, building trust, telling our story, and showing them how they can grow their business with Steer. We're looking for someone who leads with ideas, not just output: a creative thinker who can move from concept to execution across a wide range of formats, including social content, campaign landing pages, email, presentations, video, print, and everything in between.
This role is a core part of our brand team, working alongside product marketing, enablement, and social to make sure Steer shows up consistently, confidently, and creatively everywhere that matters. You'll also partner cross-functionally with demand generation, sales, and CS to bring campaigns and initiatives to life. If you want real ownership over how a brand looks and feels in the market, this is the role for you.
This role is 100% remote for candidates based out of Canada.
What You’ll Do:
Campaign & Content Design
- Design assets across formats: social graphics and animations, email headers, landing pages, digital ads, print collateral, event materials, and sales enablement pieces
- Respond to campaign briefs with concepts and creative executions, not just design specs
- Bring cultural awareness and trend literacy to content that needs to feel timely and relevant
Motion & Video
- Create motion graphics, animations, short-form, and long-form video assets for promotional campaigns, social, events, partners, and educational content
- Find new ways to bring static designs to life through animation to enhance user engagement and understanding
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate cutting-edge video techniques to enhance content effectiveness
Brand & Visual Consistency
- Own and maintain brand consistency across all marketing and sales touch points
- Develop and refine design systems, templates, and asset libraries that help the team scale creative output without sacrificing quality
- Conduct regular brand reviews to ensure all outputs meet visual standards
Web & Digital
- Build and update pages in Webflow and Squarespace; you should be comfortable designing and publishing without developer support
- Design with platform constraints in mind, producing web assets that translate cleanly to live environments
- Contribute to ongoing UX improvements and ensure design consistency across web properties
Creative Collaboration
- Concept and write copy for campaigns – own the creative narrative, not just the visual execution.
- Work closely with the brand team and cross-functional partners across demand gen, sales, and product marketing to deliver creative that's strategically aligned
- Give and receive feedback constructively; communicate proactively and flag blockers early
- Manage your own project queue across multiple concurrent deadlines without being chased
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 5+ years of professional graphic design experience with a portfolio that spans multiple formats and mediums
- Strong design fundamentals: layout, typography, color, and composition that holds up across every deliverable
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects
- Proficiency in Figma
- Experience designing for marketing campaigns across digital (social, email, web, ads), print, and presentations
- Motion graphics and basic video editing capability — required, not optional
- Proven ability to develop high-level campaign concepts from scratch; you can develop a campaign idea, not just render one
- Deep technical proficiency in B2B platforms and a commitment to staying current with industry shifts
- Strong self-management: you can track your own deadlines and prioritize across a full queue
- Collaborative, feedback-positive, and a direct communicator
- Eagerness to stay in-the-know of design trends with a desire to constantly learn new skills, new tools, and best practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with Webflow or Squarespace
- Background in SaaS, B2B, or tech marketing environments
- Basic HTML/CSS for better collaboration on web projects
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Ideogram, Loveable, or similar)
Interview Process
- Recruiter Screen (30min)
- Hiring Manager Interview (60min)
- Case Study Presentation (60min)
- Career Journey Interview (60min)
We Offer
- 100% remote work environment
- 100% company-paid Medical, Dental and Vision insurance within 30 days
- Equity package
- Flexible PTO with 15 days minimum
- Generous Parental Leave
- Growth & Wellness Stipend
