What You’ll Be Doing

You will be joining the Enterprise Technology team with CIBC. As a Sr. Financial Analyst – Project Management Office, you will play a crucial role in our project management team, delivering key insights, governance, and support to drive the success of CIBC projects. This includes conducting monthly governance reviews, highlighting financial risks and compliance gaps within project portfolios. You will collaborate closely with project managers, project directors, finance, and senior technology and business leaders. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining, managing, and creating dashboard views within Microsoft Power BI to enhance reporting, provide actionable analytics, and improve visibility into project performance and financial metrics.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and review of projects, ensuring to identify financial risks and accurate presentation of portfolio metrics.
  • Governance and Compliance: Develop, enforce, and maintain PMO governance standards, ensuring all projects adhere to financial protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Dashboard Management and Creation: Maintain, manage, and create dashboard views within Microsoft Power BI to provide real-time analytics, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve visibility into project performance and financial metrics.
  • Relationship Building: Respond promptly and professionally to project managers' inquiries and requests, delivering high-quality support ensuring project manager satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with project managers as part of the daily governance of your assigned project portfolios.
  • Business Case Support: Assist in the preparation and review of business cases, providing key financial insights and recommendations to support decision making.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate advanced experience with Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reconciliation tasks.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • You possess a strong understanding of financial principles, general ledger entries, and budget management, and can analyze financial data to provide actionable insights.
