What You’ll Be Doing
The Capital Markets Finance group provides strategic advice and financial support to CIBC Capital Markets. The Global Investment Banking Finance Team mandate is to assist the Global Investment Banking businesses with performance measurement, forecasting and planning, client reporting and financial analysis for decision making. As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with the business to provide revenue and pipeline reporting by product and industry; manage the Investment Banking Revenue and Pipeline applications ensuring deals and revenues are captured and reported accurately by industry; co-ordinate the billing of advisory fees with the Industry team, taxation and accounting; assist with audit requests; and participate in ad hoc analysis and requests. You will also be responsible for the reporting of the Capital Markets Investment Portfolios.

How You’ll Succeed
Collaboration - Work closely with the business and Finance teams to provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis, including monthly reconciliation of Investment Banking revenue in the database to the General Ledger
Financial Analysis - Prepare daily Debt Capital Markets (DCM) New Issues report; prepare weekly revenue pipeline; monthly and quarterly market share reporting; assist with monthly U.S. Investment Banking financial reporting; and ad hoc reporting/analysis to support management decision-making
Support Leadership - Work closely with the Investment Banking business to provide client reporting and financial reporting
Partnership - Work closely with Syndicate Accounting, Capital Markets Client Management, Capital Markets Technology, Management Reporting Team, as well as the Capital Markets Finance team
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, along with a professional accounting designation and/or a post graduate business degree. You will also have a working knowledge of capital markets, investment banking or related areas. In addition, you have excellent communications skills and have the ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with our business partners as well as with infrastructure and support partners. It’s an asset if you have excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
