Equipment Engineer
Job Summary
As an Equipment Engineer at NXP Semiconductors, you will be responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure high productivity and product quality.
Job Responsibilities
* Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a variety of semiconductor processing equipment (backgrind , wafer saw, laser saw, die prep auxiliary tools).
* Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
* Optimize equipment performance through process adjustments, upgrades, and predictive maintenance techniques.
* Collaborate with process engineers, manufacturing teams, and external vendors to resolve equipment-related issues and improve overall operational efficiency.
* Develop and update maintenance procedures, work instructions, and training materials for equipment operation and repair.
* Participate in equipment installation, qualification, and commissioning activities for new tools and technologies.
* Analyze equipment data to identify trends, predict failures, and implement proactive measures to prevent disruptions.
* Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards within the manufacturing environment.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and 5S principles, to enhance equipment reliability and reduce costs.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in equipment engineering within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
* Strong hands-on experience with semiconductor process equipment (backgrind, wafer saw, laser saw, and die prep auxiliary machines)
* Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electromechanical and pneumatic systems.
* Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to fault finding.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
* Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required by operational needs.
