We are looking for a Sr. Equipment Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies.  This role will report to Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop equipment specifications for the manufacturing assembly, testing and material handling processes
  • Experience with automated Equipment. Specifically:
    • Support equipment with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human- Machine Interface (HMI) programming to include motion and servo controls
    • Abilit to modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance or throughput
    • Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed
    • Installation, commissioning and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspections
  • Performs engineering work in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems utilized in test, material handling, welding, and machining equipment
  • Lead equipment design, installation, and start up/implementation projects
  • Design and fabricate tooling assemblies for manufacturing
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and status reports to leadership
  • Coordinate project implementation with vendors, facility engineering, manufacturing engineering and production teams
  • Identify opportunities to increase safety, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve quality
  • Preparing capital equipment justifications and request
  • Produce, or review and approve system as-built/as-installed drawings
  • Some flexibility to work off shifts/weekends depending on business needs

Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer with minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Tool design and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics
  • Equipment requirement development and specification writing
  • Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
  • AutoCAD/SolidWorks/MS Office suite
  • Strong Communication skills (written and public speaking)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours per shift
  • Navigate the facility throughout the day
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection, computer editing and review of digital/printed materials
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
  • Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation

Salary Ranges:

$80,400.00 - $115,600.00
