Position Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, designing, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructures, including Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Internet and intranet environments, cloud-based virtual networks, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and EV Car Network ecosystems, along with other advanced data communication systems. Operating as a key member of a high-performing network engineering team, the Senior Network Engineer participates in technical workgroups, provides expert guidance, and leads the resolution of complex and high-risk issues. This role involves conducting comprehensive research, analysis, design, implementation, and continuous optimization of network infrastructure to support both current and future business requirements.

This position reports directly to the Network Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, refinement, and enforcement of industrial and EV network standards across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with Network Manager to design, implement, and optimize highly functional enterprise and EV ecosystem networks.
  • Architect, design, and deploy advanced network solutions, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDN, cloud networks, and EV car communication networks.
  • Configure, install, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and other critical network devices.
  • Continuously monitor network performance, availability, and reliability, ensuring adherence to established SLAs.
  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments in collaboration with the Security Team and deliver recommendations across LAN, WLAN, WAN, DMZ, Internet, remote access, disaster recovery, and directory services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues escalated from local IT and infrastructure teams.
  • Automate routine tasks and operational workflows using Ansible, Python, and other automation frameworks, ensuring efficiency and standardization.
  • Develop, test, and oversee the implementation of security measures, patches, and network enhancements.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, technical reports, diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance network capacity, performance, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Utilize automation for firewall policy management and network configuration compliance.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in networking and cybersecurity.
  • Ensure system uptime, redundancy, and backup readiness for all network-related infrastructure.
  • Support the Network Security team with investigations, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction by delivering consistent, high-quality support and fostering effective communication across cross-functional teams.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Network Engineer in a fast-paced, enterprise-grade environment.
  • Strong understanding of Service Desk operations, ITIL standards, and IT service management processes.
  • Professional certification: CCIE Routing & Switching or Infrastructure (Lab Certified).
  • Hands-on experience in IT infrastructure operations, ITSM, and enterprise IT business operations.
  • Proven expertise with Cisco and Palo Alto SD-WAN, as well as Cisco Meraki networking and security solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Collaboration, Unified Communications, and Wireless solutions (Cisco, Meraki, and others).
  • Solid background in network administration, design, and large-scale architecture.
  • In-depth expertise in communication protocols (especially TCP/IP) and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Technical knowledge and deployment experience with Cisco ISE for endpoint and network access security.
  • Practical experience working with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Meraki platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco NX-OS, IOS, IOS-XE, and VXLAN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network security systems and protocols including IDS/IPS, ACE, ACS, VPN, GRE, IPsec, IKE, and authentication/authorization frameworks (TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1X, ACLs, audit processes, log analysis).
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), and Meraki Dashboard analytics.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy regulations, security standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with strong creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
  • Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to work across diverse technical and business teams.
  • Business-level fluency in English; additional language proficiency is an advantage.
