The Role:
The Senior Global Quality Chain Engineer, within the Global Quality — Core Products BU, serves as the global process owner for the Quality Chain (QC) standard. This role leads the deployment, governance, and sustainment of PFMEA, Control Plans, and Special Characteristics across all regions and plants.
By driving standardization, disciplined read-across, and strong governance through PLATO, this position ensures risk mitigation, audit readiness, and operational excellence across the global manufacturing network.
What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)
Global Governance & Standard Ownership
- Lead and operate the Quality Chain Council, including agenda setting, decision facilitation, action tracking, and global communication.
- Own and maintain master PFMEA and Control Plan standards within PLATO, ensuring traceability and change control.
- Drive governance cadence (monthly/quarterly) and escalate systemic risks through the Global Quality Governance Board (GQGB).
- Publish decisions and track global adoption and effectiveness evidence.
Deployment & Regional Localization
- Develop and execute regional QC localization roadmaps aligned to SOW milestones.
- Lead cross-functional, cross-regional Master FMEA workshops to align and lock standard content.
- Coordinate structured rollouts to priority plants, ensuring training, go-live readiness, and adoption validation.
Read-Across & Risk Management
- Own the global read-across process within PLATO.
- Issue Look-Across Bulletins, assign accountable regional owners, define due dates, and validate effectiveness.
- Ensure disciplined closure and cross-regional learning within defined cycle times.
Capability Building & Training
- Develop and sustain the global QC training curriculum (AIAG-VDA FMEA, Control Plan, Special Characteristics, PLATO workflows).
- Drive competency coverage across Regional and Plant QE/ME/PE teams.
- Coach facilitators and develop internal mastery to ensure long-term sustainability.
Toolchain & Data Excellence
- Administer QC master objects and workflows in PLATO e1ns.
- Govern controlled documentation within BOS/SharePoint environments.
- Provide structured KPI and governance reporting to senior leadership.
Compliance, Launches & Change Management
- Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AIAG-VDA methodology, and Customer Specific Requirements.
- Support internal and external audits with robust evidence packages.
- Apply QC risk-management principles to product launches, transfers, and engineering changes, verifying effective control implementation.
What Success Looks Like
- QC localization plans launched across all regions with verified adoption at priority plants.
- Quality Chain Council operating with sustained cadence and >90% on-time action closure.
- Master PFMEA and Control Plan templates finalized for priority processes with >90% audit conformance.
- At least one cross-regional read-across case executed with median cycle time ≤ 30–45 days.
- 100% on-time governance reporting and milestone delivery for the QC workpackage.
- Recognized as a trusted global advisor and subject matter expert in Quality Chain methodology.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Chemical, or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in product/process quality within high-volume manufacturing (automotive or energy storage preferred).
- Proven expertise in AIAG-VDA FMEA and Control Plan development.
- Experience facilitating Master FMEA workshops across functions and regions.
- Hands-on experience with PLATO e1ns and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Experience operating within structured governance environments.
- Fluent English with strong global stakeholder management capability.
Preferred:
- AIAG-VDA FMEA Practitioner certification, CQE, or Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).
- Battery or advanced manufacturing experience.
- Spanish and/or German language skills.
Work Model & Travel
- Hybrid work model based in Mexico.
- Global scope role requiring approximately 10–20% travel.
