PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads in feature and user story estimation and backlog refinement with their team.
2. Leads in estimation and backlog grooming, risk identification and mitigation with their team.
3. Provides technical leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring.
4. Expert understanding and experience in the required tech stack.
5. Expert understanding and experience leading front-end development, database development, API and messaging development, and proven and emerging frameworks – each product group will list specific tech stack as defined by the product team needs.
6. Acts as a technical lead for the team.
7. Advanced in design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business.
8. Helps lead SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Program Increment and Sprint Planning ceremonies with their team.
9. Develops detailed user stories and requirements.
10. Expert understanding of business, customer, and team goals.
11. Directs data gathering and analysis to support product strategy.
12. Responsible for solution options and alternatives for feature requests.
13. Advanced engagement with product designers to analyze customer operations to understand and develop opportunities for improvements.
14. Directly supports business process redesign.
15. Directly supports business case development.
16. Ensures solutions meet customer needs.
17. Responsible for multiple highly complex business processes.
18. Develops and executes manual and automated test cases for unit, functional, regression, and integrated testing.
19. Reviews test strategies to ensure appropriate integration and process components are included Develops and executes self-documenting automated unit tests as well as manual exploratory testing efforts across the life cycle
20. Advanced in leveraging product design system standards.
21. Expert in the continuous delivery pipeline.
22. Creates technical documentation and leads in sizing of technical requirements.
23. Reviews technical documentation written by team members.
24. Leads in the design and development of the database(s) associated with one or more applications.
25. Leads in the design and development of the API and messaging frameworks with one or more applications.
26. Leads in front-end development with one or more applications.
27. Works in compliance with all coding standards, policies, and procedures.
28. Adheres to production readiness standards for applications including source control branching/merging, automated test coverage, automated builds, and automated releases.
29. Accountable for internal and dependent release coordination.
30. Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework.
31. Leads code reviews for quality assurance.
32. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of applications and production support.
33. Responsible to investigate, resolve and escalate problems for product(s).
34. Responsible for identifying the needs for cross-team dependencies for problem resolution.
35. Responsible for keeping business (product owner) informed of the status of production issues.
36. Establishes liaison relationship with business partners and IT organization to provide effective technical solutions.
37. Expert understanding of the customer/user engagement strategy for the product(s).
38. Provides factual content to feasibility study for standard development projects and enhancements.
39. Regularly engages product leadership to discuss progress and obstacles.
40. Provides recommendations for business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
41. Responsible for coaching and knowledge transfer of specializations to team members.
42. Assists IT Product Manager in coordinating coaching and pair development across the team.
43. Assists IT Product Manager in generating the appropriate communication, process and educational plans the team
44. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or another related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has more than 8 years of application definition, build, testing, and development experience. Has a broad and level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards. Demonstrates solid application development aptitude with familiarity in each layer of our technology stack (see below), if not mastery in many, and a genuine interest in all software technologies. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be skilled or highly skilled in all of the following areas and must show a desire to continually develop:
• Business and solution analysis
• Software test script creation and execution
• Software development (frontend and/or server side and/or database)
• Software configuration.
• Demonstrates solid application development aptitude
• Experience integrating solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework
• Experience developing and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies
• Experience contributing on a high-performing team
• Expert programming skills in the specified technology stack
• Expert understanding of relational database design and theory
• Expert understanding of automated testing practices
• Understanding of typical use cases and benefits for typical design approaches such as client/server, SOA, etc.
• Expert knowledge of Object-Orient Design Patterns and use cases for applying them
• Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet commitments
• Excellent interpersonal skills, must be comfortable working continually on a team with daily accountability for keeping commitments
• Ability to use good judgment in conveying status and problem escalation
• Provides technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members
