Our Design and Technology Enablement teams are working on the development of a broad portfolio of semiconductor technologies ranging from 350 nm down to 12nm including FD-SOI, RF, High-Voltage, and automotive applications.

Your Job

As a Design Enablement Engineer, you will be a member of the Design Enablement Team responsible for developing design components for Process Design Kits (PDK).

• Participate in Design Rule Checking (DRC) and DRC QA activities for PDK development

• Validate DRC rules through layout test structure creation and regression testing

• Analyze and debug DRC results across basic and advanced rule categories

• Ensure rule quality, coverage, and consistency across supported technologies

• Collaborate closely with rule developers, QA teams, and other design enablement functions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent

• Practical experience with Design Rule Checking (DRC) and DRC QA

• Working knowledge of basic DRC rules (geometry, spacing, width, enclosure, connectivity)

• Experience with additional rule categories such as ESD, antenna, latch-up (LUP), and density rules

• Experience analyzing DRC results, understanding rule intent, and debugging violations

• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining layout test structures to verify DRC rules

• Excellent technical problem solving skills

• Fluent in English – both written and verbal

• Good attitude and interpersonal skills, tactful and works well in a team environment

• Self-motivated, resourceful and shows initiative

• Well organized and exhibits attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor and/or EDA industries with a focus on physical verification or DRC QA

• Good knowledge of electronic devices, semiconductor theory, and layout-dependent effects

• Experience working with DRC rule decks, including validation and regression testing

• Experience developing or extending DRC QA test cases and regression flows

• Experience with CAD systems in Electronics (Cadence IC / Virtuoso Layout, Cadence OrCAD, Protel or similar)

• Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, Bash, Python or similar) is a plus

• Exposure to Cadence IC (Virtuoso Layout, Schematic or Skill programming language) is a plus

• Previous experience with Unix/Linux systems is also a plus
