Sr. Employee Relations Specialist

Position Overview:

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist supports designated organizations and focuses on performance management, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation. The Sr. ER Specialist ensures consistent and compliant handling of ER issues and contributes to a positive workplace culture through proactive support and collaboration with HR Business Partners and managers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage underperformance cases, including coaching plans and performance improvement plans (PIPs).

  • Support managers with disciplinary actions such as verbal and written warnings, final notices, and terminations.

  • Ensure documentation and actions are aligned with company policies and local employment laws.

  • Provide day-to-day ER support to managers and HRBPs within the assigned organizations.

  • Identify trends and flag emerging issues for further review.

  • Track outcomes and identify patterns or risks related to separations.

  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.

  • Support policy updates and contribute to ER process improvements.

  • Assist in delivering training and coaching to managers on ER topics such as documentation, corrective action, and policy adherence.

  • Manage ER cases in ServiceNow, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all case handling.

  • Collaborate with Legal, HRBPs, and other stakeholders as needed.

  • Provide support for overflow casework from other ER team members based on team capacity.

  • Participate in team-wide initiatives and contribute to a collaborative ER environment.

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.

  • 5 years of progressive HR or ER experience, with a focus on performance and conduct management.

  • Strong understanding of employment law and ER practices.

  • Experience partnering with managers and HRBPs to resolve sensitive employee issues.

  • Excellent communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
