EHS Project Specialist // Sr. EHS Specialist

Position Summary
The primary objective for this role is to support the Global EHS team with project and systems rollout, managing safety stats and OSHA logs, working with the European team on health initiatives, ISO documentation needs and attending meetings as the EHS representative. Primary assignment will be learning matrix and EHS system administration.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- 5+ years’ experience managing global EHS policies, standards, programs, or procedures
- Possess a detailed understanding of global and EHS legal requirements (i.e.: Regulations, Codes, Standards, Directives, and Administrative Policies) and provide regulatory knowledge, technical expertise, EHS engineering knowledge, best practices and EHS management systems
- Possess tactical and strategic regulatory leadership and direction as well as work well with limited supervision while being responsible for project management, compliance assurance
- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple & technically complex assignments concurrently
- Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solver, project management skills and focus on results
- Experience working effectively in teams
- Experience establishing and maintain cross-functional and positive working relationships
- Experience to be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages including the experience to effectively present proposed plans and results to management
- Experience developing and implementing goals and strategies based on broader organization goals
- This position performs the duties of a project manager and supports all environmental, health, and safety related projects
- Identifying improvement opportunities for EHS programs and develop actionable plans that that can are effectively managed to completion, through the application of the principles Plan, Do, Check, and Act to drive program improvements
- Provide or seek technical support, input and coordination on environmental, health and safety issues that affect projects and processes at the regional/country level
- Define and maintain an EHS training matrix
- Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of experience
- EHS certification, an equivalent degree in a field relevant to the responsibilities or documented experience within EHS
Additional Skills
- Able to interpret regulations and implement requirements in the work environment
- Knowledge and broad background with safety and health programs
- Ability to analyze information, develop and deliver training programs, adapts policies, create reporting and proven progressive experience to offer recommendations for continuous improvement
- Proven skill set with a variety of computer and software programs including: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and others.
- Capability to present information effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders while responding to questions from groups of managers, employees and the leadership team
- Proven leadership, teamwork and flexibility to manage changes in projects and priorities
- Ability to write reports and procedural manuals
- Superior communication skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Excellent follow-through
