DESCRIPTION:
As Senior Director of Project Management for our Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) you will guide strategic transformation and operational excellence across our organization. In this leadership role, you will oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives while ensuring exceptional customer experiences and program delivery. You will implement innovative solutions, develop high-performing teams, and build collaboration across our network. Working closely with executive leadership, you will develop and execute strategic roadmaps that align with our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Technical Operations organization globally for CDD including Project Management Office (PMO), the Division Validation Engineering Team, and the Division Technical Operations team. 
  • Build and lead a high-performance team of engaged, hardworking and motivated professionals to support the ongoing growth of the business and build bench-strength within the organization.
  • Relentlessly drive performance and accountability within the Technical Operations organization to meet Operations and Business Unit goals on time, on scope and within cost
  • Drive manufacturing growth strategy ensuring that sites are able to continue on the digital transformation journey that will sustain our business into the future.
  • Responsible for capital management strategy & deployment, associated project management and operational excellence processes & practices
  • Working with the Commercial team and local manufacturing sites to support Custom product requirements, from initial quote to delivery.
  • Lead technical voice and key partners supporting industrial footprint strategy, optimization and rationalization. Supports implementation of product and facility changes and costing, purchasing and validation of associated materials, processes, and equipment. This includes operational long/short-term strategic imperatives, product rationalization, in-region or redundant capacity, buy vs make decisions, acquisitions, facility expansions, automation or related strategies across multiple sites globally
  • Discover opportunities and conduct due diligence assessments to improve profitability and supply through the application of the PPI Business System / Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Develop a strategy and roadmap to support our vision of Operational Excellence and finding innovative ways to ensure our sites are efficient and reliable with extraordinary quality processes and products.

The individual must demonstrate the following Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

  • Academics – Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Sciences required; an MBA or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Technical leadership – Minimum 10+ years of progressive career growth and experience leading multi-site, globally diverse, technical teams in Engineering, Technical Operations, New Product Introduction or similar teams in high volume manufacturing in the biotech, life sciences, and/or highly regulated industry
  • Technical expertise – demonstrated experience with automation, facilities systems & infrastructure, biotech products manufacturing, as well as launching and integrating new manufacturing sites, processes and related products; theoretical and practical experience in formulation and manufacturing products & processes (media, consumables and reagents) is highly desired
  • Influence – Capable of gaining alignment across multiple partners in a highly matrixed environment, building collaborative relationships and focusing on customer needs; Hands-on and consultative approach and ability to motivate teams towards common goals; Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills interacting at different levels within the organization including senior leadership with a great sense of urgency and ability to inspire others
  • Eye for business & Strategy – broad foundational understanding, experience & expertise managing sophisticated operational and business challenges through short and long- term planning; experience developing and deploying an innovative strategic plan to build and enhance capabilities and performance. Defines and communicates this vision in persuasive terms, clearly identifying tactical plans to achieve objectives

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00–$280,000.00.
