Sr. Director, Marketing & Strategy

The Purification and Pharma Analytics Business Unit is one of Thermo Fisher’s fastest-growing businesses, delivering critical technologies used across drug development, clinical trials, and commercial biomanufacturing. As the market continues to evolve rapidly, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping and executing our growth strategy. We are seeking a strategic, results-driven leader to lead the global Marketing, Strategy and PMO function for the Purification and Pharma Analytics Business, collaborating across teams t define strategy, drive execution, and accelerate sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own and drive strategy development and execution, strategic marketing and related communications activity for the Division
• Partner with divisional leadership to support aggressive growth targets in a dynamic, multifaceted market.
• Lead the strategy, marketing and PMO teams, driving collaboration with Commercial, R&D, Field applications and other functions to ensure achievement of growth and targets.
• Lead and build a strong team of strategy and marketing professionals and project managers, through direct and matrix reporting.
• Enable cross-functional and cross-business collaboration, building and facilitating internal communication plans that align teams around key growth initiatives.
• Champion authentic leadership behaviors, fostering an inclusive, diverse, and high-engagement culture.
• Apply Practical Process Improvement (PPI) systems and disciplined business processes to deliver measurable results.
• Balance short-term execution with long-term strategic initiatives, ensuring sustained competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant course of study. MBA and/or additional advanced degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years experience in Strategy, Marketing and/or Product Management roles
• Experience with developing and deploying strategy
• Experience with equipment & consumables in bioproduction preferred
• Proven track record of delivering results against ambitious growth targets, using data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to develop and implement strategy. Able to perform against robust growth target, considering various metrics and data inputs.
• Strong talent management and people development skills.
• Ability to work across a heavily matrixed environment. Effective at interpersonal relationships.
• Strong project management skills with ability to lead short term results concurrent with longer-term strategic achievements
• Executive presence with strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00–$275,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
