The Sr. Director, Human Resources, operates as a strategic value creator, partnering with people leaders to drive business outcomes by providing strategic advice, consultation, and talent strategy execution with a customer-centric lens. In this role, the Sr. Director, HR will connect supported teams to the appropriate HR Practices to achieve talent and business objectives. Sr. Director, HR will work alongside business/functional areas, driving and advising decision-making through analytics and insights that drive business performance and enhance employee experience. This role provides consulting and advisement to the VP, Plant General Manager, Singapore site, along with the leadership team. Sr. Director, HR serves as the Human Resources Business Lead for the site. This is an onsite position based at Edwards Lifesciences’ in Singapore.
How you’ll make an impact:
• Act as a strategic thought partner for the Singapore Manufacturing site to develop and implement human resource strategy to achieve its current and future business objectives. Develop and plan Singapore site human resources projects and activities with accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables
• Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of HR professionals to ensure the HR strategy is implemented effectively, within budgets, and complies with all regulations, laws and employment standards. Develop a robust talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across HR
• Lead or partner with COE's to deliver human resource programs for client groups to ensure the organization's current and future talent requirements are met
• Provide leadership in partnership with COE's to evaluate the organization's future workforce needs in order to recommend changes to the HR strategy and adapt existing HR programs to meet these needs
• Use highly effective consulting skills and principles to advise, influence and partner with leadership on talent strategies and actions to build organizational capabilities and an engaged and high-performing organization
• Proactively analyze trends and metrics to identify training needs or individual executive coaching needs for assigned client group(s) and partners with COE's or Shared Service groups to develop solutions, programs and policies
• Participate in the interview/selection of talent in assigned client groups and perform compensation analysis to drive competitive offers
• Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training and coaching programs to ensure success
• May lead HR aspects of merger and acquisition activities, functional consolidations, or other large HR initiatives for the assigned business groups
What you’ll need (Required):
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and previous related human resources experience
• Demonstrated track record in people management
What else we look for (Preferred):
• Master’s Degree or equivalent in related field
• 15 years of progressive HR experience, including experience providing HR Business Partner support
• 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Experience working in an international environment building solid professional relationships with stakeholders both within and outside of Singapore
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including influencing, consultative and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
• Recognized as an expert within sub-function(s) and/or area(s) and broader organization including broad-based expertise across area and related functions
• Expert understanding of related aspects of human resources processes and/or systems
• Expert knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Expert knowledge of local and federal employment laws within field and within organization
• Ability to manage and navigate multiple ongoing issues and complex employee relations matters
• Expert negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence change
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organization
• Effective level of business literacy about the client group(s) business, financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels while establishing a positive reputation
• Represents leadership on programs or org-specific strategic initiatives within multiple areas, interfacing with project managers, human resources team and leadership team
• Consult in program setting within multiple human resources areas, deeper or more dedicated advisory role, interfacing with more senior management
• Provides human resources leadership to outsourcing partners on a directive level, participates on medium scale RFP
• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
