Job Description
Knowledge:
Must have advanced skills, depth and expertise in government affairs as well as advanced business judgment and analytical skills. Must have highly developed verbal and written communication skills. Extensive experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries preferred. Must have extensive experience working in a project-team environment.
Specific Education & Experience Requirements:
Create strategies that can positively influence the environment for Gilead’s portfolio
Coordinate and liaise with the International Government Affairs team in developing and drafting the government affairs’ strategy
Monitor legislation, conduct research and advise management of changes and or policies that could impact Gilead Australia New Zealand’s Commercial objectives.
S/he will develop strategies to address the regulatory and policy environment in such a manner as to improve Gilead’s objectives
S/he will develop, manage, and coordinate government affairs strategies related to national legislation, programmes and institutions
Create a positive presence for Gilead Sciences among state and national parliamentarians and members of the government, civil servants and its agencies, for the purpose of facilitating and enhancing Gilead’s mission.
Bring insights from government in internal planning and as necessary prepare reports and presentations. S/he may also present these findings externally and represent Gilead Sciences at industry forums and events
Support the General Manager to ensure they have an active contact programme with stakeholders
Represent the GM and Gilead at external meetings in Canberra and elsewhere
Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing, Medical and Market Access on joint programmes and contribute to the business planning process
Participate in the affiliate’s leadership team and ensure issues impacting the external environment are considered
