The Position

The Opportunity

As the Sr. Director of Finance & Enterprise Partnering for Core Lab and Near Patient Care (NPC), you will serve as a senior finance leader within Roche Diagnostics USA, reporting directly to the CFO. You will act as a strategic business partner to the SVP Core Lab and NPC and will be part of the Finance Leadership team and the Core Lab and NPC leadership team.

This role is accountable for delivering both short-term financial results and long-term sustainable value by providing strategic insights, enabling decision-making, and ensuring financial transparency across the business. You will play a critical role in shaping strategy, optimizing investments, and enhancing operational effectiveness across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnering & Business Leadership

  • Enterprise Partnering: Act as the primary Finance Enterprise Partner to the SVP Core Lab and NPC and its leadership team, providing actionable insights to drive business performance and strategic decisions.

  • Financial Planning & Performance Management: Lead long-range plans, annual business plans, and interim revisions, monitoring performance, analyzing variances, developing action plans based on risks and opportunities to achieve financial targets.

  • Finance & Business Leader: Apply deep financial expertise and strong business acumen to build trusted partnerships with customers and internal and external stakeholders.

  • Deal Profitability Ownership: Hold decision authority on deal profitability, ensuring that all significant commercial agreements meet required financial return criteria, comply with pricing and contracting policies, and align with strategic and margin objectives.

  • Portfolio Prioritization: Drive financial flexibility and portfolio prioritization to ensure resources are aligned with the most critical strategic outcomes.

Financial Stewardship & Operational Excellence

  • Process Excellence: Leverage deep understanding of the value chain to drive harmonization, simplification, and standardization of end-to-end finance and business processes to improve efficiency and customer experience.

  • Financial Integrity: Ensure delivery of high-quality, accurate, and compliant financial reporting to safeguard the organization’s assets and license to operate.

Leadership & Culture

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

  • Transformation Leadership: Act as a visionary, architect, coach, and catalyst (VACC) to drive change and innovation within Finance and the broader organization.

  • Culture & Engagement: Promote a purpose-driven, agile, and high-performance culture aligned with Roche Operating Principles.

Who You Are

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred. CPA, CA, or equivalent finance qualification is a plus.

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, preferably within life sciences, diagnostics, or healthcare-related industries. 5+ years of people leadership and performance mangement. Direct experience with deal evaluation, pricing, contracting, and profitability governance strongly preferred. Experience supporting commercial organizations and understanding U.S. healthcare market dynamics is strongly preferred.

  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to connect financial insights with business strategy and drive enterprise-level outcomes.

  • Business Partnering Excellence: Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving decision-making in complex environments.

  • Governance & Decision Authority: Experience operating within commercial and financial governance frameworks, including accountability for approving or co-approving deal economics and ensuring disciplined execution.

  • Leadership Capability: Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and operate effectively in an agile, matrixed organization.

  • Growth Orientation: Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and value creation.

  • Values-Driven: Strong alignment with Roche Operating Principles, including patient focus, collaboration, and long-term thinking.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $187,600 - $348,400.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
