ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Business Operations (DBO) or Chief of Staff will provide comprehensive business support to the Executive Vice President, Chief US Commercial Officer. This role will anticipate, identify, understand, engage in and support effective prioritization of issues and opportunities across the business and ensure initiatives are completed in a timely and effective manner. As a member of the US Commercial Leadership Team, the DBO will provide operational support to maximize the performance and efficiency of the business, goal clarity and alignment of the broader US Commercial organization
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work to progress business strategy and monitor and maximize performance through the alignment and cascade of goals and performance dashboards, implementation of appropriate metrics, prioritization and efficient use of investments and communication of results in partnership with Finance and the LT
- Drive operational efficiency and simplicity by ensuring fit for purpose business processes. Examples include but are not limited to operations of the US Commercial office, leadership teams meetings, the annual Op Plan, Strategic planning, and business reviews
- Accountable for the efficient governance of key meetings and communication owned by the US Commercial office. This includes fit for purpose attendance, decision-oriented agendas, capture, tracking and follow up of action items and working with the Chief US Commercial Officer’s Assistant to ensure seamless planning and logistics.
- Delivery of Board Reports, ELT reports, quarterly Earnings messaging and ad hoc Investor Relations requests through proactive gathering of information, ensuring quality and timely submissions
- Closely partner with US Commercial and Enterprise communications teams to execute Chief Commercial Officer engagement strategy for external appearances and internal events including but not limited to Blueprint Leaders, PfizerLive and Division townhalls
- Act as a key enabler in building a strong culture and driving the Chief US Commercial Officer’s agenda, Pfizer’s purpose, and values through partnerships with People Experience (PX) and others ensuring optimal understanding and uptake across the organization.
- Ensure DBO community of practice and lead special projects, leveraging network to seek out and apply learnings for greater efficiency or faster impact and ensuring effective use of resources.
- Enhance the effectiveness of the US Commercial Office
- Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred
- Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment;
- 12+ years experience; prior commercial/marketing experience preferred
- Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and mastery of working in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and strategic mindset
- Track record of strong networking and working collaboratively across functions and geographies

- Executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong writing, presentation and influencing skills

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $219,800.00 to $366,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
