The Senior Director, Business Development  plays a pivotal role within the Strategy Department, leading end-to-end go to market (GTM) activities for new innovation launches across the region’s medical device markets. Acting as the strategic catalyst for the regions growth, this leader integrates commercial insight, business development expertise, and strategic execution to transform innovative concepts into tangible market success.

As the regional representative for business development - focusing in a first instance on Heart Failure, they will drive cross functional alignment between Strategy, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory, and Commercial Operations, ensuring launch excellence and sustainable adoption of new technologies within diverse healthcare systems.

How'll make an impact:

  • Lead regional go to market planning and execution for new medical device innovations, ensuring local adaptation to EMEACLA market dynamics and reimbursement pathways.
  • Develop regional business cases to support prioritization of launches and investment decisions.
  • Partner with global Strategy, AIT, and Commercial teams to translate global innovation priorities into EMEACLA specific implementation frameworks.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships and collaborations within the EMEACLA ecosystem
  • Oversee EMEACLA launch governance processes, aligning regional cross functional teams on objectives, milestones, and KPIs.
  • Provide strategic input on pricing, market access, and competitive positioning for new solutions.
  • Monitor market and competitive trends to anticipate future growth opportunities and inform regional portfolio strategy.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for complex go to market initiatives, ensuring leadership alignment and resource optimization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of business development professionals and cross functional project leads across major EMEA markets.

What you'll need:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Life Sciences; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in business development, commercial strategy, or innovation management, within multinational medical device or healthcare technology companies.
  • Experience in heart failure or chronic disease management, including remote patient management and digital/AI patient management systems desired
  • Deep understanding of EMEACLA healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks, and market access dynamics.
  • Proven success launching new products or technologies regionally across diverse EMEACLA markets.
  • Strong ability to lead cross functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluent English required, proficiency in French or German strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approx. 30%).
