Position Summary

This passionate creative role leads a team of B2B and B2C designers. You are a player/coach with experience leading design teams, managing creative workflows, and ensuring high-quality design outputs across digital, traditional, video, and presentation formats. This role is crucial in executing our design processes to ensure the highest-quality member and client-facing materials.

Your success will hinge on your ability to collaborate and communicate with many stakeholders, including internal partners, marketing strategists, copywriters, delivery managers, and external agencies. You should also have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to stay on top of multiple projects simultaneously.  

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of designers through all phases of creative development including synthesizing the creative brief, brainstorming visual approaches, incorporating feedback from stakeholders, and delivering high-quality, engaging designs that meet business objectives
  • Guide and manage a team of designers through all phases of design creation, from concept to final delivery
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to foster growth and development within the team
  • Guide the creation of sophisticated slide presentations for high-stakes B2B communications, including Value stories
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and alignment 
  • Abide by and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all design projects
  • Design, review, and deliver feedback to designers to ensure the highest quality of work
  • Accountability to project timelines and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Participate in capacity planning activities to ensure proper designer bandwidth and resourcing
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in design tools and technologies, including AI
  • Ability to convert complex information and data into clear, engaging, and visually compelling designs Demonstrated ability to excel, adapt, and be highly productive in a fast-paced environment 


Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing a team of designers
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design/advertising (health care experience a plus)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have superb design skills, with the ability to follow the corporate style guide and/or generate unique designs when needed
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and project management tools (e.g., Workfront).
  • Skills across a variety of platforms including digital (websites, email, social), traditional (print), presentations (PowerPoint), and video (editing)
  • Brainstorming and concepting
  • Ability to identify, create and implement colleague growth and development tactics
  • Leadership and organizational skills to manage, motivate and inspire a design team
  • Drive innovation and creativity within the design team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and techniques

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, advertising, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
