Job Description Summary
The Senior Data Governance and MDM Specialist is accountable for the execution and operationalization of Lamb Weston’s enterprise data governance and master data management practices. While the business owns data decisions and outcomes, this role is responsible for ensuring governance processes, standards, and controls are defined, implemented, adopted, and sustained.
Job Description
Own execution of enterprise data governance and support MDM processes across assigned data domains.
Drive implementation of governance standards, policies, and operating procedures.
Establish and maintain business glossaries, data definitions, and metadata in alignment with enterprise standards.
Enforce data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models in partnership with business leaders.
Operationalize master data standards, including change control and issue resolution processes.
Work directly with SAP teams to document, standardize, and govern SAP master data structures.
Coordinate data stewardship workflows, including issue intake, triage, prioritization, and closure.
Partner with Data Quality resources to align governance standards with quality rules and controls.
Configure, support, and drive adoption of data governance and MDM tooling.
Facilitate governance forums, working sessions, and stakeholder reviews as required.
Ensure governance practices are embedded into data delivery, analytics, and operational processes.
Develop and maintain governance documentation, training materials, and communications.
Identify governance gaps and proactively drive corrective actions.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience working with enterprise data in SAP-centric environments.
Strong, hands-on understanding of SAP master data concepts and structures.
Demonstrated experience executing data governance or MDM initiatives in complex organizations.
Strong working knowledge of data governance concepts including ownership, stewardship, metadata, and standards.
Excellent documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear business language.
Proven ability to operate independently and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment.
Ability to travel up to 10 percent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data governance or MDM tools.
Familiarity with Snowflake and cloud data platforms.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise data transformation programs.
Understanding of data quality frameworks and how they integrate with governance.
Passion for building sustainable governance practices that deliver real business value.
