McKesson is on a journey to advance its usage of Artificial Intelligence to advance patient outcomes for all. As a result of this focus, we are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Sr. Data Governance Analyst to lead initiatives that ensure responsible and ethical use of data across AI, analytics, and operational platforms. This role will be instrumental in shaping data governance frameworks (AI/ML Models, Structured Data, and Unstructured Data) that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven decision-making, while ensuring compliance, quality, and data foundations are AI ready. The Sr. Data Governance Analyst will also mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic data management and design initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
In support of assigned segments, identify and support business data or subject area stewards, facilitate inter and intro-segment collaboration on data improvements, identify and communicate data opportunities across analytical and AI use cases, coordinate implementation of data improvement efforts, advocate for data quality and documentation initiatives, and demonstrate competence in using data cataloging software and standard office software applications.
Leads and manage complex assignments and projects leveraging data through Analytics or AI efforts, making strategic recommendations on new or improved processes, procedures, and workflows.
Ensures compliance with data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Maintains knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal/national statutes and guidelines to ensure compliance.
Conducts advanced research, collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of metadata and its usage to advance Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts.
Assembles and maintains comprehensive records, reports, files, and other documents required for data governance activities.
Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and provide critical information.
Mentors and provides guidance to junior analysts and other team members.
Basic Requirement- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience
Critical Skills –
Atleast 2–3 years in data governance
Atleast 4–5 years in data management
Proficiency with modern Data Cataloging/Metadata Management tools.
Proficiency with MS Office products (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Internet applications, and electronic medical record systems.
Strong understanding of data management principles and data governance frameworks.
Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques.
Knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
Strong understanding with the ethical usage of data with an emphasis on AI and Analytics.
Preferred Skills-
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external vendors.
