We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Customer Quality Engineer to join our dynamic Quality team within the Transportation & Logistics BU. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards and consistently exceed customer expectations. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and robust quality performance.
About the job:
Customer Liaison
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality-related inquiries and concerns.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customer contacts.
Conduct regular customer meetings to review quality performance and proactively address issues.
Quality Assurance
Lead and coordinate customer-specific quality assurance programs and initiatives.
Monitor and analyze product quality data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to prevent defects and enhance overall product quality.
Problem Resolution
Investigate and resolve customer quality issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis) to identify and eliminate underlying causes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and validate corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement activities across the organization to reduce defects and elevate customer satisfaction.
Actively participate in cross-functional teams to support process improvements and quality enhancement initiatives.
Develop, maintain, and track quality metrics to measure improvement progress and success.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of quality activities, customer interactions, and improvement actions.
Prepare and present quality performance reports and metrics to senior management and customers.
About you:
7+ years of experience in customer quality engineering roles within the automotive industry
(additional engineering experience is a plus).
Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., VDA 6.3, IATF 16949) and expertise in quality tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, SPC, APQP).
Excellent problem-solving skills and proven experience in root cause analysis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
High level of proficiency in both English and German (additional languages are an advantage).
