ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Creative Development & Hands-On Copywriting. Develop campaign concepts, messaging approaches, and copy that performs across channels (video, digital, social, web, email, and paid media). Write and refine copy across formats—including headlines, long-form body copy, scripts, taglines, toolkits, and platform-native social—bringing strong voice, clarity, and audience insight to every deliverable. (35%)
Brand Voice & Messaging Frameworks. Help establish and maintain messaging architecture and tone guidance that supports consistent execution across teams and platforms. Translate strategy into structured messaging systems (key messages, value props, proof points, and narrative frameworks) that scale across campaigns and content ecosystems. (25%)
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Creative Partnership. Collaborate with art directors, designers, editors, producers, and marketing partners to align copy to creative vision, production realities, and channel best practices. Present copy rationale clearly, incorporate stakeholder feedback effectively, and offer alternatives that maintain brand integrity and creative intent. (20%)
Editorial Excellence & Quality Control. Proofread, edit, and refine copy for grammar, clarity, tone, accuracy, and brand alignment. Support content quality across deliverables through strong version control, attention to detail, and consistent application of writing standards. (5%)
Mentorship & Team Support. Mentor junior writers through coaching, thoughtful edits, and constructive feedback. Help raise the writing bar by modeling strong craft, sharing best practices, and supporting team development across projects. (10%)
Innovation, Trends & Research. Stay current with and interpret emerging AI trends, leveraging creative technology to guide team innovation. Monitor cultural trends and platform-specific best practices to inform creative direction. Research cancer-related topics and patient/survivor stories to support brand strategies (5%)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate ideas and copy approaches for integrated campaigns and content.
Write and refine copy across social, digital, web/landing pages, email, and video scripts.
Build messaging frameworks and voice guidance that enable consistent execution across teams.
Collaborate with creative partners in design, editorial, and production to bring ideas to life.
Present copy concepts clearly and persuasively to internal partners and incorporate feedback efficiently.
Maintain strong alignment with brand voice, accessibility expectations, and inclusive storytelling practices.
Mentor and support junior writers and help uphold writing standards across deliverables.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
6–10 years of professional copywriting experience in advertising, agency, studio, or in-house creative teams.
Experience collaborating with art directors, designers, editors, producers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
An exceptional portfolio that demonstrates:

Integrated brand storytelling across channels
Evidence of leadership through mentoring, editing, and elevating team output
Preferred
Experience writing for mission-driven brands, healthcare, or sensitive subject matter with empathy and precision.
Familiarity with production workflows and partnering with editors/producers for script-to-cut execution.
Understanding of platform performance considerations and iterative optimization (testing, learnings, versioning).
Comfort with emerging creative technologies and evolving creative tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to concept and write for integrated campaigns across digital, social, and video.
Strong conceptual thinking, storytelling instincts, and the ability to translate strategy into compelling copy.
Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Approximately 0–10% travel required for shoots, events, and key creative team meetings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
No (or very limited) exposure to physical risk and minimal physical effort required.
Ability to set up your own ergonomic workspace and work at a computer for extended periods.
