Job Summary

The Senior Contract Specialist establishes and promotes strong collaborative relationships with HCSC internal business partners and other stakeholders, while facilitating the expeditious negotiation of contracts in the best interest of HCSC. This position is responsible for drafting account-specific documents; reviewing non-standard document language requests; referring issues to senior staff as required; coordinating and overseeing training of staff; conducting random audits to ensure accuracy and consistency; leading day-to-day operations of team; consulting with team and elevating concerns to management; and acting as liaison between staff and management.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years’ work experience in a position involving independent judgment and initiative.
  • 1 years’ experience and skills in drafting standard or customized contracts or booklet documents with no guidance.
  • PC experience including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in deadline driven environment and completing tasks on time.
  • Judgment and problem resolution skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to interface with staff from other departments, draft document language, and handle issue resolution.
     

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Law (Juris Doctor) degree; legal, contract management, or paralegal experience.
  • Experience reviewing and drafting terms and conditions (as a buyer or seller) for master agreements, sub-agreements, such as statements of work and order forms, non-disclosure agreements, evaluation agreements, and contract addendums required by government regulations, as applicable.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of the purchasing process, contract administration, strategic sourcing, negotiation and purchasing systems.
  • Experience negotiating agreements in a health care industry setting and supplier agreements subject to regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with automated contract management systems and electronic signature systems or tools.
  • Experience leading and facilitating internal discussions between internal business partners and HCSC stakeholders during contract negotiations, with a goal of issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft applications.

This is a Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in office; 2 days remote.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Base Pay Range

$55,900.00 - $123,500.00
